Hello all,
WARNING: If you are not ready to take the time to read everything, you might not be ready to work with the Costa Rican Cubensis. Patience and details are what provided S.W.I.M. (Someone Who Isn't Me) a successful journey with the Costa Rican Cubensis.

S.W.I.M. is very new at mushroom cultivation and spent days looking for positive information on nurturing Costa Rican Cubensis. S.W.I.M. came across many posts that were older or were just continued journeys searching for information.
S.W.I.M. worked with their new friends for a little over a month, with some contamination, some experimentation, and a life changing adventure.
S.W.I.M. acquired the Mega Mushroom Growing & Incubator Kit from Midwest Grow Kits @ Mega Mushroom Growing and Incubator Kit LINK
S.W.I.M acquired the mischievous Costa Rican Cubensis.
S.W.I.M. followed Midwest Grow Kits procedures for every process. MIDWEST GROW KITS GUIDES LINK
S.W.I.M. was obsessively sterile with each process. There were previous attempts that were guided by selfishness and impatience. There is zero room for impatient intentions when loving on the Costa Rican Cubensis. After inoculation, S.W.I.M looked up information on the Costa Rican Cubensis. Although S.W.I.M. did not acquire cow manure (which S.W.I.M. thinks would have provided the Costa Rican Cubensis a more habitable environment INFO LINK.
S.W.I.M.'s Temperatures: (Some Jars pinned before fully colonized) Inoculation & Spawning: Day time: 79-80 (F) / Night time: 68-70 (F) (21-25 Days) (Reasoning: The Costa Rican Cubensis grows at the base of a volcanic mountain in Costa Rica. Temperatures drop to 50-60s (F) at night. In the rainy season temperatures can drop down into the 40s (F) at night. COSTA RICA CLIMATE MAP LINK
Inducing Pinning: Day Time: 71-73 (F) Night Time: 66-71 (F) (About 3 days for pinning, about 3-4 more days for maturity) Reasoning same as above. Although S.W.I.M. didn't deviate too much from the Spawning temperatures because they still wanted to somewhat stick to procedures on the Internet that have proven success time and time again with other Cubensis.
The mature Costa Rican Cubensis is a small to medium body and initially pinned in various directions (S.W.I.M. believes this was because indirect window light was used and it was receiving light from all directions? This is a complete GUESS). Once S.W.I.M used the light provided in the kit, the pins still initially grew out in crazy directions and matured into a beautiful upright state.
The first dosage was taken selfishly and with impatient intentions. S.W.I.M. was also in a very negative space, with other chemical imbalances going on. 38.8 grams (fresh) was miserable. S.W.I.M experienced much anger and hatred during this process. It was painfully honest about the state S.W.I.M. was in. No real O.E.V. (Open Eye Visuals) and no C.E.V. (Closed Eye Visuals). The world seemed distorted with an outline of pure negativity.
The next day S.W.I.M felt MUCH better and at peace with what happened the day before and was honest with themselves about why the Costa Rican Cubensis had provided such a horrible time. It was S.W.I.M.'s fault, not the Costa Rican Cubensis! S.W.I.M. read that tolerance is very fast, so S.W.I.M. indulged in 50 grams (fresh) and had an experience like never before. S.W.I.M. experienced an amazing adventure of laughing, crying, understanding, and peace. S.W.I.M. was connected to the universe, their animal, and talked to a friend for a couple hours. O.E.V. were soft to touch and melting. C.E.V. were cerebral and thoughtful. Thoughts were clear, confronting, honest, caring, and warm.
Extra Techniques used: 1. S.W.I.M. put the air pump on top of the tub, to "simulate" the rumblings of a dormant/active volcano. (Next time S.W.I.M will be making a volcanic ash/manure grow medium to simulate the natural environment better)
2. S.W.I.M did wash and soaked cakes in distilled water for 24 hours in the refrigerator on the first "birth" before the first pinning stage.
3. Light provided: 8 hours on, 16 hours off.
4. F.A.E. (Fresh Air Exchange) through air pump and hydroponic humidifier (Set for to run three times a day, each run set for one hour). Tub was never fanned. Humidity levels in S.W.I.M.'s room was roughly 40-50%. Humidity level in tub was always at 99%. Costa Rica is quite humid and contamination was not a concern as sterilization took longer than any other process.
Hope this helps anyone trying to care for the Costa Rican Cubensis!!
If there are any questions, they will be answered in the original post, so others do not have to continuously scroll to responses for similar questions. All "F.A.Q." answered will be below this line -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
