RIP James Randi 1

The Amazing Randi has passed away at age 92. I'm sure Oregone will be very sad.
He was a magician and the original mythbuster who offered large cash prizes to anyone who could prove psychic abilities. He died having never given away the money.

A legendary scientific skeptic who challenged pseudoscientific ideas live on television. An educator at best, a memory we'll never forget.
And an amazing magician at that.

He was a duplicitous conman himself that only went after low hanging fruit.

I've read that he was an asshole in person, but I doubt he held any belief that homeopathy might work and would have no reason to postpone the test due to the possibility that he would fairly loose the million.

I did some cursory reading about it. I did not find and don't expect to find an admission that Randi thought maybe homeopathy might work. Do you have information to the contrary?

He blatantly ducked the challenge. Made the guy spend years jumping through hoops orchestrating the whole thing, then claimed to be sick and when he got "better" told the guy that he would have to start all over.

There are two sides to every story. My point is that I highly doubt Randi though of homeopathy as high hanging fruit.

No good. Like cures like. Drink something that causes headaches, but just a little of it. Hmm... I think that's why my stepdad has a shot of bourbon every night.

You ever been in the ocean?
My piss is homeopathised paracetamol in a giant pool of water. You get cut by an oyster? I got yo back. You get bit by a fish? I'll help the pain.
My shit is lit yo, it's global.

re homeopathy:
the water memory debate need not be relegated to fringe science! water and energy are almost synonymous, in that the separated charges in water act like a battery. the liquid crystalline phase of water stores energy in order and charge separation. the molecular particulate characteristics and their correlated information characteristic can be expressed simultaneously!
if anyone is curious about the impact that Randi had on the field of water research, and the devastating setbacks it suffered, becoming the laughingstock of the scientific community, i recommend two books to tell both sides of the story:
H2O: A Biography of Water by Philip Ball
and
The Memory of Water: Homoeopathy and the Battle of Ideas in the New Science by Michael Schiff

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A9moire_de_l%27eau I have tried to believe, but it does not hold well together, thankfully water washes it away.
only the mind retains memory after the dilutions of life and time.
