NW Washington Boletus ID
    #26996491 - 10/21/20 02:15 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
On a slight slope with lots of Douglas fir mostly, some madronna, alder, dogwood, maple shade cover. In western Washington nearby a creek found  underneath sword fern.
Gills:
Light yellow pores.
Stem:
Very thick stem with white flesh on inside, not hollow. Reddish brown in color.
Cap:
Very dark red brown

No bruising. Dried half of the haul last night and they smell like straight funky cheese.

Boletus fibrillosus
I'm not familiar with these so wait for a TI or compare your mushrooms to below description. Nice find I'm hoping to learn a lot more about boletes this fall.

Didn’t take one but I’m in the works of doing that right now should have an answer in a few hours or so.

My second guess would be...
Boletus regineus, but again wait for someone else to confirm.

The cap on the 4th picture looks like B. fibrillosus like CHUCK.HNTR said. Although some are much more cracked from pictures I've seen.

Did they all look bumpy and cracked?

I don’t know if I would describe them as cracked just more so bumpy. Here’s a picture of the cap in some natural window light and also with flash.

By the way y’all, Alan Rockefeller hit me up with an ID confirming them being fibrillosus. Thanks for the help. The spore print didn’t come out so well I kinda half assed it though.
