Link between corona virus and factory farming
    #26995920 - 10/21/20 08:32 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Just sharing some thoughts on the corona situation.. just my 2 cts

I feel like the media are not nearly giving enough attention to the topic of lifestyle with this pandemic.

With the lifestyle you choose, you can benefit (or not) your immune system, health & vitality so much I feel like.

I saw what Wim Hof said about these things, I think it's pretty cool.

Of course I am not saying that if you're living healthy, you would never ever get any disease, but I feel like generally there is very little attention to this.

Face masks, lockdown.. I don't think that's the solution long term, because it doesn't deal with the root issue, and things just become more unnatural and robotic it seems to me.

With the pandemic now.. when I learn about previous viruses during recent years.. the mad cows disease, swine flu, bird flu, sars, ebola.. it's all linked to animals.

And now the covid.. which came from animal markets in China they say.. from a bat..

I actually feel like... if there would be a vaccine or the corona virus would magically disappear.. if we don't change the way we treat animals, there would arise new viruses..

This whole industry doesn't look healthy, normal, or natural at all.

It's like.. we make animals sick with this modern industry, and then we make ourselves sick by eating their sick bodies (there are no viruses in melons or mango's).

Maybe if an animal has a natural life (like a wild deer who has lived freely and natural his whole life).. that would maybe  not be as bad, but I'd still go with vegan (also cause I have experienced so much benefit from it, and it doesn't make sense to me to abuse animals as if they were lifeless objects, I feel compassion towards animals).

This whole industry is just completely ridiculous if you ask me and it's a breeding ground of diseases.

In my experience a vegan lifestyle is a great solution for improving vitality & health.

Have a nice day!

Correlation is not causation.

1) without a one world authoritarian government, this isn't a viable solution.

2) many diseases come from people eating wild animals, not domesticated animals. a worldwide campaign to educate rural people about the dangers of eating wild animals might be the best course of action, but I doubt it would stop them all. you have a combination of a) poor people who need calories wherever they can get them and b) millenia worth of cultural tradition and superstition about foods

check out Allan Savory's Ted Talk for a way to raise grazing animals that benefit the enviroment, but if we all did that we would have less meat

ecoli is commonly linked to produce, so it has its health drawbacks aswell

to be fair, e coli isn't really a big problem. it's not like if I get e coli from eating lettuce, I'm going to give it a bunch of other people. and we have viable treatment options as well.

Why are vegans always trying to push their agenda as hard as  Jahovahs Witnesses push their religion on my doorstep?

Thanks for your 2 cents. I agree that lifestyle choices impacts health and wellness. It's a shame mainstream media largely ignores basic things such as vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, sunshine, fresh air. In my opinion, if these were broadcast widely and people were taking more vitamins and being aware of what air they breath, we would not be where we are now.

Of course, we can't forget that it is an election year in a major country, the United States of America.

Just some really, only noisy ones so it just seems like that. There's loads of people eating different diets who aren't trying to make you be like them. Unlike JW's they are not compelled to proselytise as many as possible. Once food turns into ethics rather than nutrition, that's when people start getting noisy... because they are confused.

My Mrs is vegan and I've never heard of seen her try to convert anyone.

Username sounds suspiciously like one of those people I spoke about that confuse nutrition with ethics. Maybe the cognitive dissonance is getting a bit much, just why all these omnivores won't swap to a herbivore diet for a million reasons makes him sad and frustrated. Just wants to help the world, show them the realisations that he's perceived should be seen by all. Why won't you stop the murder everyone?
