ID Request from find in Columbia River Gorge
    #26994952 - 10/20/20 04:52 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Found this single specimen growing out of dead coniferous wood while hiking through Beacon Rock State Park, WA.

Cap is 3cm in diameter while the stem is  3cm long and 1cm in diameter.
Green bruising throughout most of stem and some spotted bruising on the cap.
Spore print resulted in a light yellow/orange color.

My guess is that this specimen may be Gymnopilus braendlei but need verification Please.

Looks to be a Lactarius Sp, Possibly Lactarius deliciosus. or something similar.

Do the gills bleed a milky sap when cut?

I picked this mushroom a couple of days ago and didn't get around to posting it sooner. It does not bleed a milky colored sap. Breaking the cap and subsequently cutting the gills causes the pileus tissue to release a dark red/maroon liquid which dries quickly. No bleeding from gills.
