Possible allenii?

Found these near some cyan patches, caps were lighter in color than the cyans and weren't wavy at all. I'd heard of someone finding allenii in the area(oregon) and was curious if that's what these are?

I think they're probably just P. cyanescens as well

That's what i originally was thinking, any idea why the caps would be noticeably lighter though? They were near cyan patches but definitely their own patch separate of the confirmed cyans. Soil conditions maybe? Random meaningless difference? I'm newer to it so pardon me if it's a dumb question🧚‍♂️

The first two pictures made me think allenii, but the ones in the 3rd shot look to be cyans. (in my eyes anyways) edit: excluding the ones you've circled, those still look allenii to me.

Not sure how diverse they are with Cyans. Though it could just be a phenotype.
Either way it’s probably something you would need a microscope or genetic sequencing in order to properly differentiate species.

Here in Australia. The species Subaeruginosa can vary quite a lot morphologically. There’s a phenotype where the cap is naturally a much lighter yellow colour than the traditional dark caramel. Might be the case here...

Nice find by the way.

probably cyans. although my gut feeling thinks otherwise.

but on a hunch, if I was to cross those in the field I would call them allenii

granted im a bit southern where they thrive.
