LBM Identification request for child/pet safety
    #26991940 - 10/18/20 07:49 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
General Seattle area, mid October, after rain & in high humidity.
Site:
Gravel, in an otherwise grassy/weed ridden yard.  Mushrooms growing directly out of the gravel, not the edges where the grass borders.  Dirt is compacted underneath... no other obvious unique substrate.  ***Located just outside the front of the home, where the dog goes outside frequently and young children play occasionally (hence the safety concerns).

Gills:
White, or off white, separated from stem (particularly larger specimen).  Just picked so no spore print yet.

Stem:
1/2 inch - 1 inch, off-white or light tan (similar shade to the cap, with a lighter/whiter color, but definitely not a pure white stem).  Fibrous.
Soft, mild tan/brown hue like the darker caps, with a very subtle almost "Etruscan red" mixed in (hard to tell with flash-photos).

Cap:
1/2 inch - 1 inch, Soft, mild tan/brown "pastel" hue, with very slight hints of "Etruscan red" (hard to see the reddish hue in flash-photos).  Caps notably darker color than stems.  Scrapes on top of cap (larger specimen) reveal a lighter brown, "mushy" color beneath the surface.  Domed/convex, moving to slightly wavy (larger specimen).

Spore print color:
(Freshly picked, still pending...)

Bruising:
(Freshly picked, no signs of bruising yet after 20 minutes).

Other information:
Sweet fruity aroma, resembles dried apricots.

*** Some characteristics mimic P. Cyanescens ("caramelized/wet" looking caps, dimensions, general shape and wavy tendency at maturity), but I'm quite experienced with P. Cyanescens and know this to be definitely NOT them, based on:
-detached gills
-no blue bruising
-stem robustness
-aroma
-wrong color/hue
-no nipple
-lack of a desirable substrate

My primary curiosity is not whether these are actives, or edible... it's the safety of the children/animals that live in the home an may encounter them.

Thanks Shroomery!
