the Wim Hof method / breathing for healing

Anyone else ever try the Wim Hof method?
Dude seems crazy at first glance, but I ran into a link a few months ago on him and his method, and it sounded interesting, so I started doing it. I was diagnosed with chronic lyme disease about 5 years ago and have struggled with debilitating symptoms on and off since then. I would usually be fine in the summer months but when fall came around the symptoms would get worse and worse and I'd have to go on antibiotics again, was unable to go to work much of the time and just suffered in general with various symptoms even with a lot of medical treatment, natural medicines, tinctures and everything. This was a pretty regular cycle and would last the whole winter.
So I started reading more of what this crazy guy had to say. He said with his method anyone could basically rid themselves of sickness in the body, cure depression, and a whole host of other seemingly wild claims. He said you could influence your own autonomic nervous system; suppressing inflammatory bodies in the bloodstream associated with chronic illness. I was inclined to be skeptical, but I figured there would be no harm in trying to see what breath work could actually do. Then I found this book, Breath, by James Nestor that explored how some of these methods actually work (great book by the way). So there's actually some pretty good science behind it...
Anyway, I've been practicing this for a while now, and having great results. I'm not even doing his whole method, although I'd eventually like to, I just can't take the cold right now. But with the breath work from it alone, along with an anti-inflammatory diet and intermittent fasting, I've been able to completely keep away my seasonal relapse of lyme disease. I am currently suffering no symptoms whatsoever, and it's pretty amazing.
So has anyone tried this, or other breath work like Tummo or Sudarshan Kriya that work on the autonomic nervous system? Here's a link on a write up of how to do the Wim Hof method if interested.

that's extremely great!
your past condition puts things in persepctive
yeah it's amazing how these things work, and that it's not recognized
the medical industry should go through the whole thing testing it systematically and publishing it's findings
like make a list of what works
and how
or the state should
great you're back in shape healthy!

In the USA anyway, unfortunately the medical system has absolutely no interest in healing anyone of anything. Then we wouldn't come back, and capitalism would fail for them.
Fortunately, scientists in other fields are starting to test some of this stuff:
Quote:
In a scientific study, Dr. Matthijs Kox and physician Peter Pickkers injected 24 healthy people, half of whom had been taught the Wim Hof Method, with an endotoxin known to cause fevers, chills and headaches. Those who were trained by Wim were able to reject the bacteria and avoid the symptoms, while those who were not trained were not.
Dr. Kox and Pickkers believed this to be down to the breathing techniques of Wim Hof, whose pupils could deliberately secrete adrenaline in order to fend off inflammation. For the first time ever, there was scientific proof that suggested it may be possible to control your own immune system β and that it was a skill that could be taught.

I did it for a bit a while back and then stopped. I would like to get back into it (when I have my own place and more space to practice un-selfconsciously). Yeah it seems a bit weird at first but IME the health benefits are worth the effort, just keeping it up consistently every day is key. Glad that it helped you sort out your health issues, hope you continue to improve! And thanks for that book recommendation, def gonna check it out

Yessir, been doing a lot of energy cultivation over the years, and the GAE is a great supplement to it, thanks for that extraction tech btw. <3 It's kinda like this video:

I know what you mean about having a place/time to practice, it can be difficult... people think you're having an asthma attack if they see you

Ah, gotcha. Yeah that stuff certainly helps as well! Extracts have really helped my whole family.

Awesome book, isn't it? Now if only I could find a Sudarshan Kriya class... unfortunately in my location I really don't think that's gonna happen.

Look into some Mantak Chia on youtube, he can really help set the stage for cultivation. Microcosmic orbits really help you get in tune with your body and moving awareness around it to each organ and feeling/experiencing them.
