Here's more of that albino I am working with currently. I'll have a whole bunch of it coming up over the next couple weeks. It was mislabeled and I was planning a clone hunt on what it was supposed to be (APE) but I guess I can do a thorough clone search of whatever this is. I do have actual APE on agar now BTW. I see one that may be worth cloning:

roar, I only shake again if i'm worried about the culture and want to find out if she's clean. If everything looks and acts fine, i stick with the general practice of 1 shake around 30%.

If I liquid inoculate I shake every day for the first two Three days just to redistribute moisture but then don’t touch again unless it looks like it needs a good shake.

Shaking is a trade off between recovery time and how many inoculation points you have. Kind of a balancing act that depends on how fast your myc is.

Yeah, I shake 2-3 times if the culture is slow and/or the wedge I used was tiny. Case in point, this melmac culture is very slow to begin with, but also the wedge is small, like 1/4 the size of a quarter. I'll shake it today (14 days after inoculation ) and at least once again, after the shook grains have spread to as many grains as when I shook the first time.

Pic 3 looks like bruising from drying out. The other pics the mushrooms look waterlogged.

Dig it. They are growing in the same conditions . Trial and errors I guess. I’ll get it figured one day though. Thanks for the reply. Hope you have a great day.

A few days ago I mAde a couple qts of a PE/AA+ mix from a spore swab that I inoculated using a jelly jar of rye GLC. The lids I use allow me to dry the grains up after I pull the LI out (about 5ml remains in the jar because it sticks to the grains) Without opening the jar so I can get the GLC grains to recover.. Here they are recolonized:
I took those are made a small glad container.. did it at ~1:3
. .
I figure since PE takes longer to pin than AA+ and AA+ is white, any normalish colored pins that develop at the same time as the white ones will have a good probability of being a cross.
Bonus info: I know there was a member a couple days ago that wanted to know how much coir to use to make a quart of bulk material... it’s about 1/16 of a normal mono recipe. 40gms of coir, 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of verm
I had a bit of a scare with those mixed qts I made on Wednesday.. for anyone that doesn’t wash their jars (obviously except for the rim area) you might know how this feels lol... yesterday I saw this in 1 of the 2 qts:
I was like WTF? I just made these things and already I got the green mean! And why is it just on the side glass? Well after an hour of inspection, I figured out it’s a little lint ball from one of the towels I Used to dry the jars lol. Here it is today being colonized by the LI
Not gonna use a greenish towel from now on
