Lion's Mane, Maitake, and Blewits?
    #26990227 - 10/17/20 03:10 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Thank you so much for looking at this post. All found in NW Georgia in the forest over yesterday and today; the forest contains mainly pines, oaks, and beech trees.

1. Grifola frondosa? Found this growing off the base of an oak tree in the woods.

2. Hericium erinaceus? Found growing off of dead hardwood in the woods.

3. Clitocybe nuda? Found growing out of decaying leaves in the woods.

4. Now, this one looks like a Blewit, but I think it's Cortinarius camphoratus. Am I right? I found this 25 yards from the blewits.

hey thanks for the ID.

Are you sure about 3 and 4? I'd be awesome if a T.I. could comment on this.

I’m not a TI, but I agree 90%. MentalPariah I think just mixed up the name maybe? Laccaria ochropurpurea seems correct based on appearance, habitat and season.
Gill spacing is too distant to be a blewit and if it was a Cort, there’d be cortina remnants and evidence of orange spores.
