Do you like being challenged? Or do you find it unpleasant enough that you would rather surround yourself with people who won't challenge what you say/do?
.
Do you like being challenged?
You may choose only one

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

I like it when there's an argument behind it. A lot of people think "No, you're wrong" constitutes an argument.

this, actual conversation/debate is great but for example talking to a flat-earther is like hitting your head against a wall

See how many people someone is ignoring and that will tell you if they mind being challenged or not

Only through regular challenging and testing of our ideas and beliefs can we come to a deeper understanding of them and, in turn, ourselves.

Some people use the lens of past experience and belief to define and understand their present reality, thus reinforcing their current belief, experience and understanding. This is part of the echo chamber phenomenon of which you speak.
I prefer to analyse my past experiences and beliefs to understand and redefine myself through the lens of my present reality and current perceptions of it. This is more like self analysis through a kind of ontological "subjective objectivity" for want of a better term.

But in the end all personal experience, belief, understanding and consciousness is subjective in nature and one cannot simply remove oneself from this subjectivity in order to objectively analyse it; it's all a bit Schrödinger's cat when you get down to it. Even the supposed objectivity of an outside observer is still interpreted subjectively by both you and said outside observer, coloured by our own inherent biases :strokebeard:

I love being challenged, but only when they bring real ammo (science) to the discussion.  If it's philosophical, well not my strong point but I know some, and not talking 1800's Nietzsche or other old debunked philosophical crap but more modern philosophy or post-modern philosophy.  In politics, I have a hard time not playing devil's advocate and generally trolling by poking holes in arguments, exposing biases, and in general doing laps around people that are too dogmatic to think at all.  I get quite some joy knowing that after I demolished their argument, they spend an inordinate amount of time finding a source that backs them up (almost always a garbage source) and then round and round we go till I either get bored or they stop replying.

I used to not like being challenged by others in all forms.
Though I've come to like being challenged on what I say. Especially on knowledge based things. Otherwise how will I learn without making mistakes. Or gain insight from another person's perspective without keeping an open mind to their point of view.

I don't however like being challenged on what I do. Or rather how I live my life. For as long as I can remember I have a very strong live and let live ethic. I will not change myself for anyone else. But at the same time I don't expect anyone to change themselves for me.

Test me then...Methinks you mistakenly believe your anecdotal nonsense as a legitimate challenge to anything, it's not and never was.  Maybe you think that article you posted by a blatantly biased think tank counts as real science to challenge, again, nope it doesn't.  All these people who post papers from airxiv and other non-peer reviewed pre-print servers, nope again, not a legitimate challenge.

I do love being challenged.

I hate intentionally obtuse, intellectually dishonest people.  Which makes up just about everyone I've gotten into an argument with.  It starts with moving the goal posts or false equivalencies, eventually degenerates into ad hominems.

That is not a challenge, that is a platform for good trolling  :trollhide:
