Frosted Flakes

Is it just me or do American Breakfast cereals taste worse in comparison to five or ten years ago? I bought some Frosted Flakes yesterday, expecting a mouthful of nostalgia and frosted goodness however I found myself chewing on disappointment and swallowing sorrow. Has anyone else had this unfortunate experience?

I feel that this is happening to all things. Food, cartoons, music, planes, trains, automobiles, ect, ect... 15 years ago, Dos Equis and Shiner were good beers, so good that you could leave one out opened over night and drink it in the morning and it still tastes good. Not so much anymore.

Lol yes but i chalked it up to just getting older. I fucking loved frosted flakes, coco puffs, fruity pebbles all of them but can't stand them now. They're ridiculously too sweet for me. it's beyond me how i used to down that milk left after too. Cool first post

Yeah that dude was fucked up. Totally against the sexual act in any and all ways. Just check out the shit he recommended in his book:
A remedy which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision, especially when there is any degree of phimosis. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment, as it may well be in some cases. The soreness which continues for several weeks interrupts the practice, and if it had not previously become too firmly fixed, it may be forgotten and not resumed.[53]
further
a method of treatment [to prevent masturbation] ... and we have employed it with entire satisfaction. It consists in the application of one or more silver sutures in such a way as to prevent erection. The prepuce, or foreskin, is drawn forward over the glans, and the needle to which the wire is attached is passed through from one side to the other. After drawing the wire through, the ends are twisted together, and cut off close. It is now impossible for an erection to occur, and the slight irritation thus produced acts as a most powerful means of overcoming the disposition to resort to the practice
and
In females, the author has found the application of pure carbolic acid (phenol) to the clitoris an excellent means of allaying the abnormal excitement.
Evil, evil human.

Cartoon Network’s golden age was the best time for cartoons. As for the beer, I thought it was just me that would only drink a Dos Equis as a last resort.

It's all milky cheeto fluff covered in candy in the grand scheme of things. Eat non-corn based cereals instead.

I eat a lot of cereal and lately I have noticed frosted flakes are sharper then they used to be and cinnamon toast crunch often has like 3-4 cinnamon squares that weren't cut properly. I like that defects but not how sharp frosted flakes have gotten. For the most part I still love both though

Have you ever tried Cream of Wheat? It’s not cereal but rather more similar to oatmeal. It’s been my go-to breakfast for a while because that actually has stayed the same my whole life lol

I think its a mixture of everything is a little better when you are a kid. Same reason some iconic cartoons of our childhood dont hit the same today. But its 2020 so id assume they use shittier ingredients now.

Yeah cream of wheat is a great food for when you don't want solids or liquids and it's high in good vitamins. Should have it more

I feel like with cartoons, and tv in general, there’s just way too many shows now. Seems like networks go for quantity over quality. Not to mention endless reboots. Shows like Samurai Jack, Courage and Dexter’s Lab, still hold up to me. However I flip through Netflix and it seems like there’s just a sea of stuff to choose from but not as many standouts. Kinda like how every actor has a Netflix special now haha

I think Frosted Flakes were always garbage. Corn flakes with a coating of sugar.

For sugary cereals I like Life cereal. Shredded Wheat is a pretty good healthy type cereal. Alpen is kind of in between. That's probably my all time favorite cereal but I haven't had it in while.
