Critique my PF cakes! -> Stunted fruits?
    #26988080 - 10/16/20 08:54 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

These cakes were placed into my SGFC about 4 days ago but they were pinning in vitro. They seem short and stunted to me. Or is this normal? Strain is Golden Teachers.

Its hard to tell because of the lighting but these pictures were taken right after a mist and fan. They never go for more than a couple hours without a misting if I notice surface conditions are a little dry.

9/10. Hygrometer/thermometer unnecessary. These will just cause you to overthink when the SGFC design does everything for you.

Looks good asides from that though! This is just me being nit picky haha

Agree with the hygrometer. I don't follow it too closely, its more or less just a baseline.

Should I start bottom watering these guys? How much water would I put in the trays?

I had great success growing Golden Teachers via PF Tek without any bottom watering.

I'm assuming you dunked your cakes before loading into the SGFC?

I made sure to mist often and mine fruited quite well. If you notice the cakes are drying out unusually fast you might want to re-hydrate the perlite.

Best of luck. Update as your grow progresses!

Yep dunked for about 20 hours. I do feel like I am having a bit of a hard time maintaining the right surface conditions. Maybe I will tape up some of the holes around the bottom. I have been hesitant doing that though because I feel like they already aren't getting enough FAE.

Keep misting as needed and pay close attention to how quickly it evaporates off the cakes.

You can make modifications to the tub (if necessary) after.
