Help identifying any problems

Hello! First time growing. Using the Midwest growers kit set up, seemed to go alright the first flush but I noticed they would open up pretty early and weren’t that big. I have decided to leave the top off of the container most of the time, and have stopped using the air pump and have a fan that turns on 4 times a day to cycle air.. it’s in a closet. Hmm what else to tell ya, the perlite is pretty wet and the whole thing is sitting on an electric heater. The mushroom pictured was on the very bottom of a cake and started getting really black yesterday, so I picked it tonight.. I feel like maybe the water dripping off the top of the container due to condensation maybe is making it look weird? I also didn’t handle them very good when dunking after the first flush, I put them in bags of distilled water for 2 days. The additional pictures are the set up, the cake in the middle is the one the problem mush was taken off of.
Any help on if I have any issues of contaminant to deal with I reall appreciate, other than that.. how should I go about making changes so that I can propogate a lot more mush with this set up? I’m down to change anything, I’ve read a little about bags.
Thank you for being here to ask! I really appreciate you for reading this.

There you go... That's the only pic in your gallery so I'm not sure what you've done with the other pics referenced in the post...
So there's a few things wrong here:
First: did you roll your cakes in perlite?
Second: what's your humidity reading there? If you have the lid fully off and a fan on multiple times a day, your cakes aren't really benefiting from that layer of perlite as it's basically just making your entire closet a little more humid, rather than the environment around the cakes...
Your setup doesn't look like the tried and true PFTek though: did you follow a guide or wing it?
You've got some fruits there though so... not so bad
For your next grow, I'd ditch the makeshift humidity chamber setup and do some brf to bulk shoeboxes. Or go whole hog and start agar to grain with a clone of your best fruit... Depends on how comfortable you are with what you're doing and how good your sterile procedure is.
