Metallic flakes at the base of cubes / stunted growth
    #26986523 - 10/15/20 06:57 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Growing cubes from a clone on a mix of coir and verm with gypsum added and although the colonization went well the fruits ended up wonky. They are small, dense, and seemed to have matured early with no spore production. There is even one that grew completely upside down LOL but I digress..

I harvested the ones that were ready by cutting at the base. Two or three of said fruit had a small amount of substrate attached at the bottom which is where I found flakes of a silver to gold metallic like substance. They felt hard but crumbled under pressure. I'm still inexperienced but I have not seen this before.. is this normal? What is it? Could this be related to the weird growth of the cubes? Thanks in advance!

Don't feel stupid haha it's easy to overthink things. If you have some leftover verm then grab a pinch and compare
