Psilocybe Quebecensis/Aztecorum pics!! 2

Hi! Yes I'm kind of crazy and obsessed sometimes. So I went for a hunt, far from home, for a couple days, with the hope of finding the rare, elusive, legend Psilocybe Quebecensis. I knew they exist. I didn't know if I would succeed.
I found them in two areas, a couple miles away from each other. September 29 an 30th. From my researchs online ; In quebec they grow from mid september to mid october. In relation with yellow birch in wet or flooded areas. In sand by the river.
Those I found were not in sand or real close to a river. But there was yellow birch around! They dont bruise blue as much as caerulipes. Caerulipes are dark blue, Aztecorum light blue. Taller stem than caerulipes. Rhyzomorphs. Caps a bit wider than caerulipes. I also had more luck droping spore prints from quebecensis than caerulipes.

Thank you! I have a lot more pics to show you soon!!

What great finds and pics! Could you tell if they were actually growing from the yellow birch wood or was the wood too decayed to tell? I can see some birch branches in the photos but it is difficult to see what the mushrooms are fruiting from. Also, what other trees were nearby?

Back with more pictures! Thank you all for the good words!
rud_dudl Yes as you can see from the following pics, they grow from small yellow birch branches up to 4 or 5 inches diameter. I also found them growing from the ground. There was some other species of trees around. Some maples and coniferous, but I dont know exactly the species. Gonna do some further researchs on that.
First of all, the majestic habitat! The leaves on the yellow birchs are turning a rich yellow color this time of year!

Some blue/greenish bruising on the margin of the cap

Those are the best pics I took. Thank you

Psilocybe aztecorum would be the preferred name for this species. Psilocybe quebecensis is just Psilocybe aztecorum re-named.
Sometimes the same species of mushroom gets described twice under different names. This is the case with aztecorum/quebecensis...

Yeah I know but in my mind its just a bit sad to put the name quebecensis in the garbage right now. A lot of people, especially amateurs from Quebec, dont even know that it's been proved its Aztecorum actually. Even mycoquebec.com which is the reference here still call it Quebecensis. I dont know why...But youre right its Psilocybe Aztecorum

Thank you! I would really like to see them fruiting out of a cultivated patch! Is it even legal to share spores in the US and canada?

Back with some videos of the habitat!!
These ones were fruiting in a natural "hole" in the forest ground. Maybe 3 feet wide, 3 feet deep.
Another vid of the "hole".
These ones were a couple miles from the first location. They were right on the side of the hiking trail, close to a road too. I didnt even had to leave the trail to spot them! They were growing out of a 4 in diameter fallen tree covered with moss, maybe 10 feet long and they were growing all over it. That tree wasnt even touching the groud, it was supported a couple inches from the ground.
Also I think the coniferous that was around could be balsam fir. Not sure on that one.

I think the name "quebecensis" should be thrown in the garbage. The species was named Psilocybe aztecorum originally, so the original name should stand while the latter name dismissed. Teach those Canadians that the mushroom species is Psilocybe aztecorum, not "quebecensis"...

Amazing stuff <3 <3 <3 So cool how they nature provides Psilos all over the planet. They look close to the Serbica around my place and less than "your typical Azure, Cyan, Allenii aso".
Thanks so MUCH for writing me and offering a print <3 I will give my absolute best to make em happen fruiting indoors here <3
