Found this brownish rock in my substrate after sterilizing and I'm wondering if anyone has ever found anything weird like this in their sub

Not sure what kind of substrate you're using. These days, I use grain spawn mixed with CVG as my substrate. For grain spawn, I use oats. Oats tend to be sold in large, 50 lb bags for feeding farm animals and stuff like that, so there's often all sorts of shit mixed in there. I've seen little pebbles and rocks like your pictures, sunflower seeds, bits of hay, corn, and other doodads.

I have found rocks, dead bugs, sticks, pieces of plastic, and several other unidentifiable things as well. Sterilize it, and let the mush conquer all!
Thats how I rock , not big into sifting, cleaning, and prep work. I don't like sweating.
Not very lady like.
Luckily the myc agrees with me and does most of the heavy lifting.

I was looking in my colonizing jars a few weeks ago and found some bugs in the jar. HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT HAPPEN IF I ALREADY STERILIZED IT. THe bug was moving and the grains were colonized solid so I rocked it back and forth and it squashed the bug. I also found some mycelium gnats in a few of my old tubs. NASTY
