cococoir/oats -- bod bucket tek

Hey not sure what was going on.

she said the earlier tubs, the mycelium would hold the cococoir together better.

now it doesn't seem to want to stick together. this has happened on last couple. is it just a bad luck streak that she getting bad results with the structural integrity of the bulk due to the spawn?

could it be from not enough spawn?

contamination?

or what could the cause be that the bulk doesnt want to stay together anymore when harvested and dunked. she  doing everything the same way she always do.

Contamination. Healthy tubs will be more structurally sound. Contaminates weaken and even kill the myc, so that's why you see it breaking apart.

^^ My thoughts as well.

With the limited information you gave, best guess would be the spawn is dirty, but it could be from the substrate being overly wet.

Another possibility is the coir you are using. I had a bunch of tubs go really well with one brand. Thought id try a different brand and it didnt stay together very well. Returned to the original brand and it's back to being a uniform substrate. For me its either the brand or that I havent taken the time to adjust the amount of water i am mixing into it.

Thank you Bodhisattva
