A good question here is also whether this is multispore or a strain that performs very well for Munch's growing conditions as he has spent a fair amount of time isolating/cloning it.
There are a ton of variables. Of course if Munch comes back and says it's multispore, well then there ya go, proof this tek is the bomb diggity.

Yes one quart spawn! I couldn't tell you the exact specs of every pic, but I'd say most are MS. I don't do much cloning. Texas Orange Cap MS and Stropharia MS have been my go-to for bulk for years. Canopies are more about providing proper conditions than nailing a gnarly clone, although it can help. And those familiar with my grows know I've been preaching MS for years, this isn't just for this reply. Check the search engine for the number of times I've mentioned MS Stropharia.

Oh, yer gonna love this, but I just wanna be like Munch!
I've gone thru Pasty's EZ dialed, and I'm just lost where to put the larger holes. I know 3 long side, 2 short side, I think, mebbe not Know...
So I grabbed an old SAB 66qrt and added some more holes.

But I have a new 66 that I want to do better! Can you add dimensions or a drawing for location and hole size for the long and short sides? However the cans I use to melt holes are; 2", 2.5", 3", and the ever popular 4" coffee can.
I mean some current holes are below the Shoebox top, so it seems restricted. I would think above, so there's more open space behind the holes. Thanks for your time and awesome tips!
p.s. Can't wait to see your Uncle Ben's experiment...

Oh I see where I got the larger hole idea...first and then your video...
Mushboys and mine 2" holes
I saw it in Mushboy Making Shoeboxes (some hilarity)
Ya I liked the idea of dialing in the FAE with tape, although not sure that idea is in there either. Ok found it, you said it! " I use the standard holes with micropore tape as a FAE regulator" LOL AND I can pretty well see where you put the holes now that I go over the video again. I suppose this tub's holes are gonna be pretty big, so perhaps I'll double up the tape...
Anyways, FAE is prolly not so important while the lids are snapped on. So there will be room in front of the holes when there's just two open Shoeboxes, duh.
Sorry just getting up to speed here...

Ok, new 66 quart tub gets 1.35" dia. holes from my biggest hot socket! and voilà!
I put two layers of micropore tape because there's no moisture in the other one since 8 days. I'm up to 4 & 5 layers for those big 4" holes (ex-SAB).
(I know I could have four SBs in one tub till fruiting, but...)
two shoeboxes triched out really bad with a few gnats! It seems like the lid on the tub is warped or ill fitting. So I added weather stripping, the black stuff under the lid.
SB1 spawned 10/17, SB3 10/23
Now hopefully the tub will start showing some moisture in it. This is the new 66 qrt tub with six 1.3" diameter holes. Covered by 2 layers of micropore tape.
Thanks for the tub method Munch!

Not sure if posting in this thread is appropriate. If not please advise. Very thankful for Munch's work and efforts. Wondering if this shoebox looks OK or if the experts think that it may need to be hydrated?

Hey Munch or others with more experience than I...
PE Shoebox - First signs of the white speckles (primordia I presume) showed up about a week ago with a significant increase over the few days that followed. Curious if there are any apparent issues that might be stalling the fruiting process or if patience might be the issue.

Mycone, How did things work out? I'm at about the same stage as your picture. I'm got some knots forming, but am concerned about moisture. I just sprayed the bigger tub and a super light mist on the shoebox. RH seems to be at 90-92 steady.
Also, if Munch can chime in: I had one shoebox that was developing much slower. I spawned to bulk 4 days after the first one and it's still slowly developing. will the be an issue if I have one tub closed and the other open? Do they rely on each other to provide proper moisture in the bigger tub? or does it not matter?
Thanks!
