Thats awesome man. Birds of prey have always been one of my favourite kinds of animals. I saw a bald eagle in my city once when I was a kid. Haven't seen one since. sometimes you see the odd red tailed hawk among the turkey vultures and cormorants in that area but no eagles. I just looked it up breifly and apperently there is an eagle couple living in the city next to mine. maybe il go try to check it out. I went to see a nest in the Yukon one time that was cool.

we have cormorants and red tails here, but I can't even begin to imagine the greatness of a turkey vulture. We don't have them here.
I've been lucky enough to find these eagles' nest though, holy, they are so big!. It looks like that's where they both took off to in the video.
Love to see the Yukon too! The Golden eagles are just as majestic

That's pretty cool man, I love seeing wildlife when I am out and birds of prey are especially interesting to me. Here in Australia we have wedge tailed eagles that are huuuuge. I followed the call of one through a pine forest once in the hopes of seeing it and it led me to a big patch of psilocybe subaeruginosa. It was likely a coincidence as the pine forest was known sub territory and I was on the hunt but still, it made me feel like it was helping and guiding me

Nice!!
I spent a couple years in Wyoming and I used to see eagles nearly literally daily on the drive to work (it was a lengthy drive into the middle of nowhere).
Mostly golden eagles, but a few times a month I'd see bald eagles. It never got old seeing them. Gosh they're huge. Majestic birds for sure.

I'm from Nova Scotia too
I'd see bald eagles commonly back home in NS as well.

There's at least 1 nesting pair and a juvenile that hang out in a local park less than 10 miles(as an eagle flies )from NYC. We've been spotting eagles there for at least 6 years.

Yeah we're lucky out here, lots of eagles, especially in Cape Breton and the valley. Cool to see a local shroomer on here.

Yeah man, you would see them out in Kemptown and the Brule/Tatamagouche area as well.
Likewise man, nice to see someone from NS on here. Wish I were back home now for liberty cap season.

my buddy actually had a similar experience, being lead into the forest by what we think was a woodpecker (the woody woodpecker type with the red accents) , feeling like the bird was leading him somewhere. Though all he found was the fear of becoming lost ahahah.
I feel like checkin around the nest and other places I've scoped the eagles, maybe ill find some liberty caps. I think they're telling me more than where to forage though.
Thanks for sharing your story! The wedge tails must be huge

I'm new to this community so I'm pretty stoked to hear back from some fellow Scotians!
I've bad some luck picking liberty caps with Libangel the past decade almost. In the Chignecto area. Would love to hear what other locals are finding!

that's so nice to hear, hopefully I can keep up with the nesting pair. Ive seen their juveniles the past 2 years. They appear even bigger! I thought they were golden eagles at first!

There's a nesting pair that fishes the lake behind our house. We see them just about every day.
I spent a few years at a local raptor rehab facility and have been within an arms length of most North American species, but I can tell you, it NEVER gets old seeing them fly by!

No it doesn’t. It’s factually correct. There’s zero sting in it.
