That’s definitely a sprout. I only ever got them from shitty grades of coir.

Yeah I got quite a few with eco earth.
Weirdest one was upside down so there was just a root sticking out of the coir.
Never seems to hurt anything though.

Obviously it's a sprout, just wondering what kind.

I’m not sure that matters. What concerns me is that uncolonized unsterilized seeds in your media are a contam vector. If you’re lucky they just sprout.

Yeah I just did the bucket tek this time to hydrate my coir, no pasteurization or sterilization.

Neither pasteurizing nor sterilization is any protection against uncolonized seeds and grains in your bulk media if you spawn in open air. A super fast culture could help but that’s about it.

Ok gotcha.
This is the first time I've dabbled with shoebox dubtub setups, so it's kind of experimental for me. The sub looks great aside from that little visitor; I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

I’m not saying it’s going to fail, just it’s a vector. Fingers crossed that it’s not an issue and you see a killer flush.

Definitely a bit wetter than I'm used to, and I'm not sure what's up with that exposed area but I am seeing some knotting.

That's how wet it should look you want 100000 microbeads of water chillin on the surface. Pasty is right you have a vector going on and only his blessing will save this grow.

I get these often, and I go through a lot of coco. I try to pull them out and get the whole root. Weird they survive the boiling hot water.

I used this Coco Bliss stuff, first time with this brand. I usually only ordered one at a time but this is the first time I've had this happen. So far no I other sprouts detected or signs of contams.

Not to bad of a price and delivered iv had a few sprouts in eco earth aka petco coir. I might give it a try if I can find it cheaper can picture spending over 3.80 a brick when I'm used to paying $8 for 3

Jesus Croist jackie boy 24 dollars those bricks are $1 each usually. I use the large garden bags you find locally it's organic coco I forgot the brand names should run you $14-18 for 2cubic ft bag which is already loose and looks pretty.
