it just elevates your work off the floor of your SAB or Flow

if i clean the floor with 70% do i still need to use a grid? because i don`t get it... the floor can have contamination but the grid can also have contamination. i don't see the point of it.. or am i missing some thing ?

That is "why" people use them. ....
Anyways, it's not absolutely necessary I have gone without and been just fine on countless occasions. Good sterile technique is the main concern, with that you can have success in all kinds of setups, and scenarios.

70% ISO will sanitize but not sterilize, there are still contaminants present on stuff cleaned with iso. A SAB works by virtue of its design, not by being a completely sterile box.
From what I understand, the reason for working on an elevated grid is that the floor of your SAB still has nasty shit on it that can be kicked up by excess movement and such. This is not so much a concern when working with taller items like grain jars in an SAB but agar plates are short and if you work with them directly on the dirty floor of your SAB you increase the chances of contaminants being kicked up from the floor and into your plate. A grid obviously isn't sterile either but I believe because it's a thin wired grid, there's a much smaller chance of such a thing happening compared to working directly on the floor of your SAB. You can also just use blank petri dishes to elevate your agar for a similar effect.
