Substrate Colonization please help

So I spawned 10/4, and today is 10/10, about a week. A few tubs look really good and a few are about 20% colonized. I have a few worries. I see this yellow bump in the mycelium and I’m not sure if it’s myco piss or if it’s a contam, it’s tanish yellow, almost like myco piss, but I only see this usually in bags and jars not in my tubs.
I also had to drill holes in all my tubs because they fill with water under the substrate liner, so I drain them every 1-2 days and usually a decent amount of water comes out, I think my field capacity on my substrate was too wet and it’s evaporating and dripping down the sides. Here is some pics of the “myco piss” or contam, what do you think?

—— My next concern is the fuzzy looking colonization. I’m thinking this is just mycelium starting to break the service, but I’m not 100% sure. I have kept all tubs in the dark during colonization I til 100% then was going to add a casing layer, and then back to the dark until the substrate has colonized about 20-30% through the casing and then to fruiting!
The colonization I’m talking about is like poly fill, where as the mycelium is clearly bright white and beautiful, what do you think?
Also I have 6 mazatapec tubs and 3 are zooming along the same rate and the other 3 are slower at the same rate. All came from spore, then G2G then spawned. Any worry or suggestions?

You dont need to colonize casing thats kind of the opposite of its purpose. Looks good. Ready to fruit. One of those pics looks like cobweb mold in the corner? Maybe its just the lighting? But its greyer and whispier then the rest.

They have all grown like this, and then fully colonize the area that looks like cobweb. I thought you want to colonize fully, then case, then fruit?

Are you growing cubes? if so, they grow best with 12on/12off lighting cycles. This is true from germination to inoculation, to colonization, and fruiting. they should never be left in the dark for long periods of time. Cubes do not need to be cased, what are you using as your bulk substrate? cubes are most productive when placed into fruiting conditions as soon as the spawn is mixed into the bulk substrate. How long does it take you to see pins after you add spawn to the sub?

Cubes yes. I thought if you spawn to sub right away you will get pins immediately and you will have uneven pinset.
What I have done in the past is mix your grain spawn with coir/Verm and place in tub, let it sit for 1-2 weeks til 100% colonize, the throw your casing layer in, and then wait a couple days and then put in your poly fil, and start your 12on12/off light schedule. And turn fans on for FAE. I haven’t read anywhere that says to put into fruiting the second your spawn? But maybe I’m wrong. What do y’all think I should do?

I have followed this tek before Damion 50/50 Tek and I have had no problems with waiting.

A lot of people have given up on the distinction between colonizing and fruiting conditions. You just spawn and let them go. Cubes have never needed darkness during colonization but people though that a while back based off other types of mushrooms I think.
Cubes will fruit when they’re ready, so providing them with light and air (just like in nature) from the beginning is good and they’ll pop up as soon as it’s meant to be, instead of maybe being ready but being suffocated in co2 and wondering where’s the light. I use shoe boxes and I leave the lids latched for the first few days just to give the tub some time with no real evaporation since not much is going on yet I don’t wanna be losing moisture but after 5 days or so they get unlatched and airflow.
You’ve probably seen it plenty but going spore syringe to grain is always risky, and then g2g those is even more so because any little thing that was in the master jar from the syringe is getting more time to grow and spreading to new jars. Those tubs don’t look very good but it’s early to know if something real bad will happen. I’ve had those little yellow spots before on tubs that ended up contaminating. I did get a first flush though.

So in theory, spawn and put in polyfil and start spawning with light and FAE. Thanks for the clarification.

And I’m assuming with APE & PE strains that basically require a casing, do I still introduce to fruiting and wait for 100% colonized and then drop my casing even if already see pins?

I average 10 days from spawning to pins (with cubes)
