My oats are darker then normaly

hello got  new brand of oats.  cooked them the same way  did the others
how ever when they were done i had different results.

the new brand of oats i got are way darker after i boiled them.

did i burn the new kind of oats?
if i over cooked them should i restart of use them anyways?

Are the hulls fully intact with this new brand? Also, how long did you cook?

You're fine; same thing happened to me with a new bag of oats. New oats being used for g2g receiving and they're colonizing just fine. As long as you don't have a huge amount of burst oats after boiling, there's no way you overcooked 'em; some oats are just darker. Just pay attention next time you're cooking and adjust times for good results. My last brand of oats could cook for 45 minutes and still had me wondering if it was time to pull them; my new oats come out in around 20 minutes. YMMV
