Hypochondria and The 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic

During the current 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic, I quickly learned I had latent Hypochondriac thoughts within me. On several occasions, Ive felt like I had actually contracted the airbrone virus then experience various "symptoms" like trouble breathing, odd physical-body sensations, quick fevers and general anxiety. But when I waited for the symptoms to get worst, nothing happened and realized these sensations and "symptoms" were completely in my mind only.
My entire life, Ive been a mild germaphobe, always worried about getting germs near me. I wash my hands frequently to keep them clean and I try to avoid contacting bacterial/moldy/infectious things as much as possible. Perhaps thats one of the sources of this latent Hypochondria?
Anyone else discover that they were a bit of a Hypochondriac this year?

Here in Summersville West Virginia it's more common to see people without masks in Lowes or Dollar General despite the signs.
I recently contracted a case of Listeria from Wal-Mart grapes so if dipping grapes into near-boiling water from now on = an increase in Hypochondria then I guess I'm in.

That's funny, this happened to me too. I thought I got the virus from someone coughing near me and that night I felt my temperature go way up, I had trouble breathing and started panicking. I'm not sure I've ever really been hypochondriac but I am fairly anxious about picking up this virus. I'm considering wearing a mask now when I walk my dog because we inevitably run into other dog owners, children who want to pet my dog, and just other people generally walking along our path.

you get what you expect!
but how powerful are thoughts and beliefs on the homeostasis maintaining processes of the human organism?
the mind is so intimately connected with the body, and is in a constant interplay with it. a powerful thought in the mind is capable of producing changes in the body as emotional stresses can be translated into physical symptology. psychoneuroimmunology is the field of study that looks at how psychological processes affect the human body. mental attitudes certainly help determine the state of sickness or well-being and homeostasis maintaining processes.
the appropriate time and place for fear can be life saving, but expending energy on being fearful when it is not productive to your own health and happiness or the health and happiness of others is a big waste of energy. fear can figuratively and metaphorically kill. if you do have the extra energy to expend on hypochondrial thoughts, it may help to redirect that energy into something more life giving.
the power of the imagination is stunning.

Fear is generally a very functional highly adaptive evolutionary trait that helps us avoid danger. Such as the fear we feel when standing on the edge of a cliff.
For 5 months, most of us have ingested trainloads of media messages warning of the deadly danger of being around other people. 5 months of constant "shattering" death records and spikes and SURGES of the deadly disease, with the continual warnings of deadly second and third waves. Daily death counts are part of the breakfast news. Our fight-or-flight hormonal response has been super fueled for many months. (In some other areas of the world, the media doesn't fuel hysteria like this during pandemics.)

In response to your PM: "Nah"
Some people seem to be relying on the more expensive alternatives but I've found that peroxide may be just as effective:

I think its made me less of a hypochondriac. I've been nonchalantly trying to catch corona for months now.
I have seen people act like they're doing the fucking limbo on a sidewalk trying to stay six feet away from someone else on a sidewalk. Which is more sickening than the corona
