Green staining liberty caps

Anyone seen anything like this before? The ones on the right and the closer pictures have a distinctive greenish hue, not the typical minor bluing you would normally see. They were picked on a well kept golf course and I’m wondering if it’s something to do with the cutting of the grass or grass staining...

Very cool finds, thanks for sharing.
I found a couple pins that were completely blue/green like this the other day. Wish I had my good camera with me.

Thanks guys. Strange indeed. Really green as opposed to blue and almost looked painted on rather than coming from within the shroom....maybe And hopefully just really potent. I’m very lucky with my spot as it’s well tended to by the green keeper so the specimens are good - whilst generally smaller than you’ll get in the fields they seem to pack a punch which i understand is the way of things with smaller libs.
Happy hunting all 🍄

Thats not bruising, thats chemical staining.

Chemicals from what the golf club uses to treat their grass? Or chemicals like someone has purposely poisoned these perfectly good mushrooms? That's disgusting that people would do such a thing that's like trying to kill people 🤔

Nah man, its not malicious! The fertilizer itself it green, no one is poisoning the mushrooms.

One of my grass patches in the states gets organic fertilizers and weed control periodically. Should I stay away from them in the future? Or just use them to spread spores? TBH I’ve eaten them a time or two with no issues...

Thanks guys, that’s really good info and makes me thankful for checking. My hunch was this wasnt blue bruising. Ahh well, I’ll probably the ones that are heavily stained. I’m lucky enough to have plenty of stock

I feel the same way. I dont think the concentration is enough to hurt you unless consumed for a long time or a large amount. I dont think a few here and there is going to cause you any real issues. The green is usually just a dye anyways to make the grass more green than usual.

nice finds! are you in eu or us??
in the past, i have found a small number of very similar ones in northern england in long grass moorland and unfarmed livestock fields, definitely places where fertiliser isn't used..
anyone else in the uk experience this?
