Question on too much Moisture.
    #26976097 - 10/08/20 08:27 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

good evening my fellow borts, beauties and all you lovelies in between. I have a few questions about reducing the moisture in my coconut coir. Mycelium is already growing but it's clear there is far too much moisture in the tubs.

I know too much moisture can increase risk of contamination but so far I seem to be clear on that. Are there any other negative effects from too much moisture? Would it be worth risking contamination by opening the tubs and letting them fan out for a few hours? Or should I just let them sit in those rain drops?

With no pics I can only assume you mean there's condensation in the tub. That's normal. If the sub has lots of water on it, then cracking the lid to let it dry out a little won't hurt anything. Opening the lid isn't going to make it contam out. If it did, then everyone's tubs and shoe boxes would go green from spawning in open air. The coir isn't sterile anyway and doesn't need to be.

Where if you're alone, you know, you either come through it or you die, but in any case you avoid the fuss.'"
