10 days and no sign of growth (Spawn jars)

Hi
I'm going a little crazy here. I inoculated 6 jars about 9-10 days ago with a spore syringe bought from a vendor, and i'm not seeing any sign of growth.
I've done multiple jars before without any issues. The only new thing that has changed is that the rye berries are from another bag.
My process is the following. I rinse the berries and soak them for 24 hours with some gypsum. I bring them to a boil for 10 min, poor the water out and let them dry out for about 30 min before I add the my jars and sterilize them. I have been doing the same thing every-time without any issues.
The jars are sitting in room temp. 70-72 degrees.
What could I be doing wrong?

Sometimes spores take longer to germinate. Wait another week or two and see what happens.

I'll let them sit for a little longer
Could it somehow be my grain process?

He's saying that spores to grain is just not a reliable way to do this. It can work but it can also not work. Vendor spore syringes are famously dirty.
As stated above, give it a while. Spores can take a while to germ sometimes. If you're bored start reading up and practicing germing spores on agar. That's what you'll want to learn anyway.

How do you decide that your rye grain has been properly hydrated/prepped before sterilizing?

I put them in the colander and wait till they don't steam any longer. Usually about 20-30 min. Every 5 min I shake it a bit and turn the grains with a spoon.
I usually put a few on a piece of toilet paper, count to 10 and if the paper is dry I start loading the jars.
