5 months? By comparison I inoculated this bag on 8/29, spawned to the shoebox on 9/23 and noticed pins 10/3. I have another bag I'm fruiting in the bag that I inoculated on 9/12 and it's fully colonized, I'll poke holes in the bag when I see pins. Here's what it looks like now

There's a pic a few posts ago of roughly what the bag I spawned to the shoebox looked like before spawning.
Definitely judge off what your bag looks like rather than the timeline given. There's a million factors into colonization times in my short experience. But 5 month's I'd say it's definitely ready to have holes poked in the bag or however else you planned on fruiting. I've also got a brick from an all-in-one bag sitting in a tub on foil and perlite, but the tub is unmodded and restricting FAE producing dwarf fruits, so modify a tub if you go that route IMO.

isn't the yellow shit good for fighting contams? isn't that why it's there in the first place? Why soak it up? ...unless you are just generally talking about removing the moisture altogether.
From what I've read, it's a byproduct of fighting contams & colonizing substrate. I could be wrong, but came across this below:

Except that in places that aren't this thread, that is totally untrue.
All my dunk water is yellow, from the grain dunk to substrate dunks.
Metabolites are a natural secretion that helps break down and digest the substrate.
Increased production can come from contams, yes.
But metabolites are very much normal on even the healthiest of things.

I never thought of the actual word 'metabolites' ...now I realize it has to do with digestion, not pesticide (or whatever you wanna call something that kills contams)... now I realize why it is so common, even on healthy substrates

Right so I'm not really worried about the yellow but was being cautious.
Some progress:

Are the fruits curved like that due to the lighting coming from one side?
I see the fuzzy bases on the fruits, I put q-tips in between the corners of lid to prop it up for more FAE.
Also why very little pins on the bottom of the pic?
Still haven't misted yet

More updates. I turned the tub around so the light was hitting the other side and looks like they've straightened out:

The yellow water is also gone:

I know someone appreciates these updates! Going to harvest today using Bod's water method then soak the brick for 3-4 hours under that water - planning on leaving any pins still there, I'll pick all the mature fruits.
I gotta say, trying 3-4 other methods at a time and shoeboxes just became my favorite

Nice, glad you had some success there!

Forrester, super new to this as well. Question. How would exposing the substrate from an all in one grow bag be different from a normal shoebox process of mixing separate substrate and colonized grain together?
Thanks for your time!
