Oyster Mushroom Yield and Second Flush

Hi guys! I have used about 1 KG of pearl oyster mushroom spawn along with over 2 kgs of dry wheat straw substrate which when pasteurized is enough to fill a 25 litre bucket. I am concerned about the yield.. I have read that you can get as much as 8kg of mushrooms from my current ratios but I am really not achieving that (I am close to somewhere around 1 kg in The first flush). What can I do to increase my yield? My temp is at a constant 23oC and humidity is 70%+. I am also making sure I give it enough light. Secondly, I haven't had a second flush in about 2 weeks. What could be the reason here? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Pictures of the shrooms you are harvesting would paint a much clearer picture of what could be wrong with your growing environment.

You need to raise your humidity...

If you want maximum yield you need to change your sub to fuel pellets and soybean hulls.
You are putting twice the work into the straw and getting less of a yield. More work to produce mushrooms = more cost per lb to produce. Labor is your main cost to produce the mushrooms.
If you look it is best to raise the humidity in between flushes to cause them to fruit again. I personally do not do 2nd or third flushes. I do one flush and done. I only have a 10' x 4' x 7' room. The time waiting for them to flush again costs me money because I am losing space that I could be getting a bigger flush from. Especially since your biggest yield will be the 1st flush.

I think you got something wrong. If you use 2 kg of straw at 100% BE (bio efficiency) you would only get 2 kg of mushrooms. I don't think you will get 100% BE from straw. Also, you can not figure your BE on only one flush. BE needs to be figured over all of your flushes.

So this is what it looks like at the moment. Do you think I should let the mushrooms grow out any further or is this close to harvest?

Some of the mushroom edges on the right side are already looking upwards. Meaning they are dropping spores and should have been already harvested a day or two before. Harvest the whole thing now.
