Should I Harvest Yet?

So I woke up this morning to this.

Some of them aren't ready yet, but I don't want spores dropping everywhere. These are GT's if it makes a difference. I could take out several right now that have broken veils, however, they're mostly attached to ones that aren't quite ready yet and I was hoping to get a 2nd flush out of this thing down the road.
Would appreciate some sound advice and ASAP before spores start dropping.

Even if they're attached to ones that aren't ready yet? I can't get in there with an exacto I don't think. Just afraid of screwing up.

I would, I would rather pull a few small ones than have spores drop all over my sub

Yeah probably best, unfortunately, there are so many finished ones that almost each one has an unfinished buddy. Just have a feeling I'm not going to have much left after this but it's exciting!

You can wait until the end of the day but I would pick them before tomorrow. They open and drop spores super fast.

How much do you have going on today? I'd give em another 4-6 hours personally, but you're definitely entering the window of "OK to harvest".

Just snip the caps off the ones that open with a scissors so they don’t shit all over your grow

I got the majority out of there, what's left inside is mostly bruised now, unfortunately. I took some more substrate and patched any holes that I made.

I'll keep this in mind. Oddly I noticed some of my stipes splitting while I was picking. Is this normal?

Don’t feel dumb... there’s a lot of shiat to keep track of in this hobby.. I constantly lose shit right in front of me and have to ask my gf for another set of eyes. Especially in the fridge.
OP: usually split stems have to do with growth rate or excess water or both.. nothing to worry about ime

Another question as far as harvesting and prepping for 2nd flush goes:
Am I to be just patching spots I plucked substrate out along with the fruits with brand new substrate? Or would it be best to wit until completely harvested and then adding another small casing layer and misting heavily?
Sorry, my last tub didn't have a 2nd flush it just dried up and died. Trying to make that not the case this time since this is the best I've done so far. 1.5 oz dry and counting still.

You'll want to rehydrate your substrate for a good second flush. Just fill your tub with enough water to cover your substrate, then put a plate (or something else to distribute weight evenly) along with a weight on the substrate to keep it underwater. Leave it like that for 12-24 hours and it should be all good. I don't bother patching or casing and get pretty decent second flushes.

I always have trouble draining excess water from the tub with the substrate in it lol. I get so anxious about dropping the substrate.
This sounds super simple though. I mean I used to dunk cakes when I did those so it only makes sense.
Also are you supposed to remove all aborts before doing this? Are all aborts black too? I have a lot of small pins that don't seem like they've done much since showing up

Helps if you've got someone who can help hold it, but I often don't and, if I'm being honest, will frequently break my substrates on accident. They'll still fruit just fine. Alternatively, you could use a siphon to get the water out.

3 hours is more appropriate for bulk subs and even that is too long for some people.. a lot of ppl just soak the top of the sub with water via misting for a couple days and let it ride that way. Pf cakes should be dunked for 12-24 hours because they’re denser. Bulk subs will absorb water much faster and there’s a lot of water from the first flush still available for the second.
Check out this thread Tribal dunk. Only one hour is recommended in that thread
