Gotta love how cooking at 15 psi and below (11 psi in OP's case) gets the grain looking so nice and fresh after a cycle. You get the job done without browning the grain, which is something I don't like and myc doesn't like.

Also found interesting how good those barley and wheat kernels are looking after doing Fooman's tek. :takingnotes:

Thanks for the feedback

Knocked up some with MSS TOC, B+ and GT(all different jars of course)now the waiting game begins

How long does MSS to grain normally take? Legit excites

You can leave the jar as is for a week or so and see of it starts growing anything. If so then it is in fact, not okay.

I wasn't questioning whether or not the chart is untrustworthy. I want to know how accurate it is. How many tests were done to verify those numbers? The original thread that was posted by Willsolvem when he made this chart doesn't have much discussion and doesn't appear that anybody else tested the theory. The great majority of people here are all about minimizing workload and time and if this chart is accurate, why aren't all grain jar teks written to say "20psi @ 20m"? Some of them even say 15-17psi @ 90m.

It is only a guide just like the charts published by medical industry. If you really want to know, you'll have to validate your process using your prep, your equipment, and your conditions. It is much easier and lower risk for the majority of people out there to simply PC the grain a little longer than the bare minimum necessary to sterilize it.

Is injecting sterilized water into a dry jar a option?

It's not that dry. I agree it's on the dry side but I think it's going to work just fine. Maybe you'll get slower growth than usual but that's about it.

:frown: I don't want slow growth

Foo man's dry time before PC is 30min should I try 15min of drying before I load the jars?

I strive for perfection my bros, want it to be perfect.

IIRC, Fooman's tek consists of  pouring boilling water over the grains and then straining after a time, correct? So if you want the grains to take in more water simply increase the soak time after pouring the water.

I like that you strive for perfection but those grains aren't trash man, you can use them, they are a little dry, not fucked dry... It's not like myc is gonna get weaker or anything, it's simply that when grains are not correctly hydrated it may take a bit longer to finish.

You have very little grain in that jar anyway, so it's not going to take that long.

Ok I'll mess with the soak times. Its normally 20min.

I feel you bro, I guess there's a lot of other factors for growth as well besides grain drynes

This jar is to be used for G2G that's why it has such a small amount, was hoping for a quick MSS to grain turn around then G2G expansion

Been struggling for years to find a print in my country its very very hard to find. Finally got one so don't wanna fuck around or fuck up

Apperciate the help brotha
