Panaeolus cyanescens ID request - North American Gulf coast
    #26966602 - 10/02/20 08:02 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Found mushrooms at 6 PM

Growing under trees and near a stream in cow manure
Looks like panaeolus cyanescens
Bruising appears light blue and gets darker especially dark on the stipe; patchy on caps
Mushrooms are small weight about 1 - 2 grams each varying less or more than a gram
61° Fahrenheit 73% humidity 3 days since rainfall
Growing in the grassy spots next to trees and water

Caps are round and wide while the stipe is very thin not very tall but 1 to 2 inches usually

I Agree With Panaeolus (Copelandia) Cyanescens, As Stated Above They Should All Show Bluish Bruising Where Injured/Damaged.

There Are No Known Poisonous Panaeolus Sp

Nice Finds

This one shroom I found tonight at 8:16 PM. bruised so dark it is black.  Like was said before they can bruise black too.  Is a little blue in the cap? Looks pretty good shape to me and is the tan color from sun bleaching like that happens with psilocybe cubensis as well?

Edit: . a pic of the insides of the gills where is more grey than black and also a to show where I just cut the stipe is blue-green bruising

I found more Panaeolus Cyanescens at 12:41 PM. Sunny 82° 45% humidity.  USA
Including mature Panaeolus Cyanescens.

Blue-green bruising can be seen in different shades on the stipe and blue bruising on the caps.  Cap are white to light brown.  Stipe is opaque white to dark brown.  3 to 1/2 inch height .25 to 2 inches diameter on the cap while the stipe is less that a 1/4 inch across
Caps are smooth to a rough peel or scale like appearing like an oval around the cap.  Caps seem to be elliptical flattening slightly on 2 sides and 1/2 the cap. Rather than how a veil remnants is a small dot.  Deep soil fertilized by the cows. Often shaded by trees or tall grasses
