--Important-- Please ask me in the comments if you require any more information for ID, and I will provide it. I am really hoping to get an ID on this.
Habitat -Aprox. 350m above sea level -Upland grassland, partly grazed by sheep. -Scotland
What it grows on -Animal dung, looks like sheep. -Note it is not fresh dung but seems to be over a week old, and has started to break down a little bit.
Gills -Dark brown, almost rusty brown.
Stem -White, with a faint hint of light brown in places -Striations running vertically -Neither thick nor thin, or at least not noticeably so. (See pictures attached)
Cap: -Circular -Light brown in colour -Slight nipple in the middle of the cap -Separable gelatinous pellicle -Sticks to my lips when I place it on them -Most have a thin/faint white edge
Spore print color -dark brown/dark purple
Bruising -Blue dot on the base of one mushroom (pictured), but haven't been able to identify any blue bruising on the stems of any others.
Other information: -The mushrooms smell exactly like Psilocybe Semilanceata (Liberty Caps). -In about 40% of the areas where these mushrooms where, there would be Liberty Caps growing either with them or very close.

Shouldn't these have a gelatinous gill edge? Do these have that gelatinous gill edge? They look right by picture but im hadly an expert on EU psilocybe.

Were they growing directly from dung? I do see one photo of them growing from dung, so if they're all the same mushroom from dung then I'd say they are definitely Psilocybe fimetaria. P. liniformans is the one you're thinking of that has gelatinous gill edges.

Hi Moria, thanks for the reply. Yes 100% of them were growing directly from dung. I only took photos of a few of the individual flushes. There were hundreds more. If it doesn't look like it's growing on dung it's because some grass had grown over the dung.
So would you say it is a confirmed ID?

Hi MentalPariah - thank you also for your reply. I am not an expert on the terms, but I believe they do have a gelatinous gill edge. I tested almost all of the ones I found by breaking a small bit off the gill, pulling upwards, and they all had a transparent sticky membrane covering the top. I hope this helps.

If they have gelatinous gill edges, it would be Psilocybe liniformans var. liniformans, but considering how rare they are it would seem unlikely, and these are probably Psilocybe fimetaria. Either way, it's an active Psilocybe

Thank you! Every every suggestion everywhere seems to say it is active, which is good. Am I right in thinking that P. Fimeteria is not that common as well? Very little literature online, nothing on youtube, reddit etc about people finding them other than a reports.
