Oh I just meant deleaf to get ready for finish. Not everyone does.  I make sure to deleaf first or second week of flower and week four or so.  Helps them finish I think.  Maybe just a weird thing some of us do.  Cut the big fan leafs off and trim it up. I deleaf All the way through from just after clone stage until week 8....  They like it

Oh lol

I usually do just because my potted plants start to lose leaves and I trim. All my other plants are pretty highly trimmed but I’m just gonna let this one go because the buds are so massive.

These are some other plants I’m growing. I’ve been told letting these leaves go yellow at this point actually helps the flavor of the buds. I have four plants and they’re all getting slightly different treatments. I lost a cola on one of these plants because the weight of the bud caused the stem the bend and break. It’s fine cause I just finished off last year’s harvest and needed something to smoke

Kinda hard to tell but both these plants are highly staked and tied with string or else they would have already self destructed

The tall plant is the one with the case of mosaic virus. It never spread to other plants, but you can see the mutant leaves and even that one top bud seems a little twisted. Still fat as fuck. I’m open to the idea that it’s not mosaic and it’s just a retarded plant 🤷‍♂️

Yeah the one that broke is pretty sativa dominant and definitely a different feel than last year’s indica. My tall plant that in the ground seems like it’s mostly indica, based on the leaf shape and the closeness of the nodes. The fact that it’s 10 feet tall seems to be related to the fact it was put in the ground. It was shorter than all the other plants before I put it in the ground. If you can put your plants in the ground, I highly suggest it.

Maybe I should have kept track of which seeds were which, because I had three different mothers and one father that this year’s plants came from

plants in the ground usually yield a lot better too.

I wish I could grow outside in the ground, I'm a gardening machine. Alas I can not risk it where I live though.

Checking my plants indoors today, a necessary measure because I've been playing with fire bringing plants to the outdoors for some UV exposure and to have extra room in the bloom room, before bringing them back indoors. Now that fire has come back to burn me and I've got a couple thrips feasting on my plants. Orius Laevigatus predatory bugs incoming.

A UV bulb would have solved both the lack of UV indoors and would also have killed off all thrips. I think I'm gonna go for it.

I hate thrips.  Not a huge deal but they are a bitch sometimes.  I used some green cleaner not sure if that was the final kill all or if it was the pyganic, Azasol, treatments prior.

duude, ease up, all it takes is some pirate bugs n they're goners. Google "buy orius for thrips" and you'll probably get a few companies in your general area willing to ship em to your doorstep, all it takes is a couple days shipping time and if you use em in greenhouses they stick around for months.

I don't get why people are so into pesticides, most pests are easily handled using biological controls. I don't know about hemp russet mites, seems it's a beast all in it's own league, haven't really taken the effort to research the pesky thing before though so I can't say for sure.

Biological controls are generally preventative, using them when you already have an infestation usually isn't very effective.

I HIGHLY beg to differ. I've done so many a time. I am talking small scale indoor btw. I always order the minimum amount, immediately use at least half, which is usually a tenfold concentration for my very small scale grow (my grow and bloom room combined take up less than 8 sq ft), the remainder I usually use 3 days later. It also depends on the pest of course, and the degree of infestation. For now, I've NEVER had an infestation get so bad even a noob can scope it out within a minute, so it does come down to vigilance and daily checkups on the plants as well.

I threw away my last bottle of pyrethrins 2 or 3 years ago and never looked back. I got some conserve by bayer (derived from a fungus or bacteria or something) a couple months ago to battle an outdoor aphid infection that was annihilating my chives, because I've found ladybugs and their larvae to be less then effective at it, and I didn't know if the lacewing larvae would stick around the chives in the big outdoor garden (no weed) with lots and lots of other less important aphid suffering plants to choose from; I mean I got loads of sunflowers with the same aphid infection but fuck those. Also no getting away from the aphids here, my neighbor has a beech hedge, attracts em like a mofo or so I hear.

Oh and sometimes you gotta be willing to do a multi-pronged approach with several species of bugs or by introducing fungi AND bugs at the same time. Interestingly enough, Metarhizium does not kill beneficial insects. I also I doubt they would harm beneficial nematodes but that's just my best guesswork. Well.. Guesswork and me using both at the same time and it seeming to be more effective than either used apart from each other. Haven't used more than once in conjunction so cannot be sure yet.
