If im being honest, I prefer the Gil Scott version to the Marvin Gaye one..
Are we stupid or just naive That we continue to believe Money can buy us anything Including a slice of the American dream.
What are some of your personal favorites?
Im looking to expand my repertoire

First thing is first, James Brown is the King of Funk. Music wouldn't be what it is today without that dude.
I enjoy Funk/Soul, but I'm more into the psychedelic/jam funk. If you never listened to Funkadelic &/or Parliament you are missing out.
If you don't mind instrumental funk, I highly recommend Soulive's self titled live album 2002. Saw these guys at LOCK'N Music Festival in 2019. Blew my mind.
