I'd say Protostropharia, based on the rings

Actually I think you’re right, Good call. The Protostropharia Species I’m used to seeing don’t have a nipple like those ones.

Thank you both for your help! Protostropharia Luteonitens possibly? I’m assuming this is the updated name for what my old guidebook was calling psilocybe luteonitens? I was having trouble going between Deconica, Protostropharia, and what my older copy of “psilocybe of the world” was calling Psilocybe Luteonitens..

Protostropharia Luteonitens seems very likely, especially given the pronounced umbo. Good on you looking up the current names too and not just assuming since it was at one time psilocybe that it was active. Mushrooms change names all the time, hell even psilocybe cubensis was once in genus stropharia. Some guides still call it stropharia cubensis even.

Thanks, I try to do my homework but do occasionally get stumped. I figure learning is mostly about putting in the time and I genuinely find this stuff really interesting. LBM’s sure are difficult to ID though and the frequent name changing adds an extra layer of complexity when you’re just starting out (or dyslexic and spell like a toddler). I probably should get an updated guidebook as well But.. You wouldn’t happen to know where I might look for more information on Psilocybe silvatica by any chance would you? Did it also have a name change? I have been searching everywhere and can’t find much info other than the basic ID page on here.
