Can you help me ID 2 species?
    #26967630 - 10/03/20 01:23 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Hello everyone !

I am new to the forum, and new to the mushroom hunt ! Today it was my first one, and I found 2 species I'm almost positive are not liberty caps, but I don't know what they are. Can you help me identify them?

Habitat:
I found both of these species in a big sheep pasture just next to a small river, around 300m above sea level. They both grow directly on the soil, around some wood debris, just next to patches of nettles. There were sheep dung nearby, but they didn't grow directly on it.

Here are photos of them. This is the first one (let's call it "A") :

As you can see, "A" has a cream to light brown cap, sometimes brown with a white patch in the center. The cap is sometimes round sometimes a little bit wavy, with no nipple on the top. Its brown gills are attached to its thin stem. Its overall size is quite small.

And here is the second one (let's call it "B") :

"B" is a little bit bigger than "A", but absurdly fragile. When I picked one I destroyed all the other ones around it simply by touching their cap. Its cap is cream (a little bit darker in the center), with SOME KIND of nipple in the center. Its gills are cream, and attached to the stem. Though really fragile and easily breakable, the stem is straight (no waves).

I didn't have the chance to make a spore print. They both smell like regular mushroom, a soft earthy scent.

So, do you know what they are? Are they magic, tasty, toxic, potent? and most importantly, if these species are present in a pasture, is this a sign that other mushrooms are present? Do liberty caps coexist with those? Do I need to continue searching this specific area?

Thank you very much !

Psathyrella sp. for the first ones, and possibly Entoloma for the second.  More focused and close up shots would help, though.
