Tub and mold question

Hi there,
I have setup my tub but i see there is green mold in side my tub I have used 3kg of rye and one coco brick.(the coco brick was not at field capacity, in the sense if you squeeze you see a few drops of water but rather, if you squeeze you feel some moist around your fingers. because i had a failed tub when i used field capacity and some one said i need to make it less wet) want i also did is when i mixed the rye with the coco brick and packed just like it should be done. i sprayed the inside of the tub with water. but now i am thinking i should only spray water inside the tub when i go in fruiting conditions?
So i have two questions: do i only mist when i going fruit conditions ? This my third tub that has mold is there something i can use so keep the mold away? i heard about water peroxide but i also heard it is toxic and i don't want that my mushie absorb something that is toxic

You can mist anytime the sub starts looking dry...typically when you have the right field capacity you don't have to worry about misting until the sub starts to fruit, but if it starts out too dry to begin with you may need to give it a few mists to keep it from drying out completely.
Clean spawn and sterile procedure is the only way to keep mold away.

I also use coir bricks, how do you add water to them? I put the coir and the vermiculite (that I use instead of your rye) in a portable cooler, one of those that people take to the beach to keep their beverages cool. Then I boil the appropriate amount of water (enough to completely dissolve the brick and wet the vermiculite) and pour it into the cooler, and mix it with a stick. I usually do it in several times, one liter at a time. Once finished, I close the lid of the cooler and let it sit until it’s cooled down (it will take hours). That way I didn’t have any problems with mold (so far 2 tubs successfully finished).

The coir really isn't the issue when it comes to fighting mold....I've done bucket TEK, Bod's TEK and even used cold water to hydrate it and had no issue countless times. Whenever you have mold issues it is 99% of the time or better dirty spawn.

Ok I didn’t know that, I got the procedure from this site and couldn’t remember where, so I thought it could be helpful.
Edit: I wasn’t thinking about the coir, but the water? You need several liters for a brick of coir, and if you leave a glass of water for a week or two, all kinds of stuff will grow in it. That’s why I thought it’s important to only use boiled water, don’t you think?

I have three questions:
1. If i raise the lid a tinny bit off the tub to peak inside, can that cause mold?
2. I prepared the coco and than i saw that i needed to wait a week before the spawn was ready, so i waited around 1,5 week after i wet the coco brick with boiling hot water, can that cause the mold?
3. i buy pre sterilized rye bags 3kg/6,61Lbs, but every time the spawn in not solid white. only the outside of the spawn if completely white. Should the inside of the spawn as be white?

1 I raise the lid sometimes several times per day and haven’t gotten mold yet (admittedly I’m only on my third tub).
2. Where did you keep the coco during these 10 days or so? In a (more or less) airtight container, like for example a cooler? Otherwise I would think yes, that could introduce mold.
3. Do you mean the inside wasn’t colonized with spawn? I think it should be, but I don’t think that would be a reason for the mold.

2. yes i kept the coco brick in a airtight container. I kept it in a pressure cooker.
3. That's so strange that the spawns inside would not colonize. After i inoculated the rye bag. I left it for 2 months or so. At the right temperature 🤔

This could be your problem. If the myc hasn't taken hold of all available nutrients, anything airborne can grab on to it... That's not to say that it will 100% of the time, but that's why you need to wait for full colonization for spawning.
Do you have any pics of rye bags you thought were ready to spawn?

On the first one its not so clear to see but the inside is not colonized.

Partial colonization could be a sign of bacterial contam, and that does look lighter in the center on the first and off colored in the second...
Do you break up your bags to speed up colonization?

yes i always break up the spawn when its at 25% colonization. but it don't matter how long i wait, i always see small parts of brown rye. as for the first picture you can see that the core/inside never completely be colonised.
as for the mold. i might know why i get that every time. i keep the tub inside a closet because i can turn the light on in there so the mushies get light from a led lamp. and also because its a more stable temperature in there. however i also got 7Kg/15lbs bags of harmala seed in there. and every time i leave my closet door open my room smells like harmala seeds. (when i have the tub with mushies in there i let my closet door closed of course) but i was thinking maybe the mold comes from the small particals of harmala seeds. what do you think?
