Lions mane grow procedure question

Hi. I've had a couple successful grows, but I'm thinking of doing a lions mane grow. I don't have a flow hood. My question is; can I do a master's mix fruiting block, sterilize, and do a direct LC injection into the bag? I was thinking of making SHIPS on the bag with RTV. On that note, I don't have an impulse sealer either. I do have a vacuum sealer though. Should I seal the top part of the bag before sterilizing? Wouldn't the bag need room to expand/off gas? Can I seal after sterilization?

Absolutely.

I've done that before, works great - just put some kind of tape over the rtv silicon because the silicon bead will not stay stuck to the bag.

No, yes, and yes, although you don't need to (I just used tape after I folded it over a bunch of times)

You can seal .5 micron bags and sterilize them. Do it all the time.

You certainly can, I just don't recommend it to people first trying because they can blow out if you don't load it up right.

Great, sounds like it's doable. What's your preferred way of inoculating if a SHIP isn't used. I assume grain spawn in front of a flow hood? Is a SHIP necessary?. Will I need a high humidity fruiting chamber or will a misted plastic bag suffice? Thank you for validating my thoughts. I may get a small greenhouse/humidifier/fan. All with controllers. I have most of that stuff anyway

I don't supplement, so my preferred method of inoculation is open air grain spawn.
Honestly if you're gonna inoculate w/syringe in open air anyway, you could probably just poke the syringe through the bag, as long as you tape over it with something clean afterword. I don't think there's really all that much of a point in using the silicon in that case.
As far as a fruiting chamber, I would recommend getting a greenhouse set up, then you'll be ready for any other species you wanna grow too. Lion's mane doesn't need an insanely high amount of humidity, but it does need lots of air, so I wouldn't plan on using a plastic bag/tent setup.

Just 100% wood substrate? This is so helpful thank you. I do have a SAB, so not totally open air.
Edit: additional info

Yeah inside a SAB with the injection area wiped down with ISO right prior to sticking, I think you'll be good
100% hardwood fuel pellets is what I always use, but edible species do benefit from supplementation if you don't mind sterilizing the whole sub. I don't like to

I have a question because i was thinking of doing this , shouldnt there be air in the top of the bag while it is incubating ? I know the bags are sucked down straight from the PC, so if i seal them as soon as taking them out (because i dont have a flow hood either) then they will be incubating while in the vacuum downed state... i guess it would still work, just not optimal ?
