Question on GE Requirements for Colonizing Monotub

I have searched every forum on every website and have yet to find a straight-forward answer to my question. I understand nothing is straight forward as there are many ways of doing things successfully, but I would like to hear y’all’s thoughts on my specific scenario.
I just spawned 2.25qts of WBS to 5qts of CVG in a 66qt monotub. I properly pasteurized it at 140-160 degrees Fahrenheit for 1hr. My RV is reading ~94% and I currently have all the GE holes taped closed.
My question is: Should I have the holes completely taped closed or should they be filled with tight poly-fill?
My confusion is due to the fact that contaminants spread in high CO2 environments and my house has trichoderma and penicillium out the ass. I have fairly good sterile technique and my grain is fine, but I fear this mono getting contaminated before I even get a flush. Would tight poly-fill allow colonization conditions, while also preventing contamination, and also without allowing too much oxygen to accumulate resulting in slow colonization?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you fellow earthlings🌎

a monotub isn't a sterile environment anyways so taping the holes won't change that. Having clean spawn is the only thing that is going to keep contams away. Even pasteurizing your coir/verm is unnecessary.
Going straight into fruiting conditions is pretty standard practice now so you would just dial in your tub right from the start. The only thing I found taping up the holes during consolidation did was add more time til I harvested.

you dont even need gas exchange holes at all.
also, contamination of the tub from the air is unlikely, you just spawned it in open air, unless you spawned the tub in a pressurized glove box and sealed it before remaoval (you didnt), its already contaminated. but 99% that is not going to make the tub go bad, 99% of times the tub goes bad it is because the spawn was bad, not anything that happened after it was already spawned.

Good answers, guys.
OP trip less. Well, trip more just in a different way. Fucking words, eat as much magic as you want but don't trip on what you're currently tripping on (unless you also tripping on rainbows right now)
You can allow as much air as you want, so long as you don't dry the sub out. As stated above, it's common practice to spawn straight into fruiting conditions. Or you can spawn with no obvious GE and it'll be fine so long as you provide for air exchange once the pins start.

Thank you guys. I really appreciate the advice. This is just my first monotub grow so I’ve been excited and wanna do it as well as possible. I will trip more on magic rainbow farts and trip less about the monotub conditions

to be clear, conditions are super duper important, just not in the way you were thinking. While colonizing, it can be locked down tight (no holes/ taped holes) or open and breathing. If you go the breathing route, you just have to make sure it doesn't get so much air that it dries out.
Enjoy the rainbow farts
