definitely not filled with water. it looks like the cloudy white mold from too much humidity. I err'd on the side of caution and birthed it outside by itself to see if it will do anything. Better safe than sorry.

It ended up being double contamination, oversaturation created the white cloudy puffs at the base of most of the fruits, and then green monster (Green Mold) on the top of the cake that was birthed premature. The root cause of the oversaturation was running a humidifier in a SGFC on a 2on/2off cycle. After going through many posts here it seems best not to have the humidifier at all since my room conditions are already at about 70% humidity The perlite holds humidity well and dunking cakes will provide the rest of the humidity needed for successful fruiting conditions. (I included this part in case anyone else is having similar issues or just want to avoid a mistake. Patience and consistency in room temp would have solved the premature birthing of the cake. (they stalled at one point when the temp hit 83F) RIP Wikidzon Run#1 I Cast the cake and fruits to the deer after reading on the dangers of contam fruits. The photos came out nice so that was a consolation prize. But Hey, I learned a lot and this was the first attempt after being away from the hobby (for me) for over 5 years. Luckily I have a few more things going so this wasn't the end of the world!

The second picture looks like the rice is pretty wet. If you are running your first pf tek, try to avoid using too much water. It fucks grows a lot more than having a few drops too little. too much moisture leads to bacteria always, in general, while to dry leads to slow colonization, stall or fail to colonize, in my experience as a 1 year cubensis grower
throw the green cake out, and remember how it looked before it turned green, the "fat white" that looked different than the mycelium. why? because you dont want the trich to get that far. you want to catch it before it sporulates,
ideally.
the green sporulating in your grow area, constitutes a independent fail
also if your cakes are turning green before the first flush, your spawn was really bad and you shouldnt have used it, ideally you should have noticed before you spawned it.
and dont over mist - your sub needs to be have moisture, and your surface, but if you overmist your cakes or sub, it just leads to contamination, aborts and small fruits
with regards
