Will they come back?
    #26964288 - 10/01/20 04:53 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Hi there,

Last year I found a patch on my property by our creek that was plentiful with psilocybe subaeruginosa and psilocybe weraroa however this year I decided to clean the patch up by removing a lot of the long weedy grass, cutting back some of the bush and placing some fresh mulch down.
While I was in the process of doing this I found that they were growing but they were in their early stages. Time went on and only a couple came through the mulch and I think we're at the end of the season here now.

I'm thinking if I just left the patch to itself it would of been fine and lots would have come through again this year, have I destroyed this patch or damaged it? Is it likely to come back with more strength next year?

Thanks

I can not say. But I can say this like everything in life if you work for it and give it the right conditions and nourishment it'll come back. There was something there that made it grow as long as you don't remove that factor it will keep growing. Do some research on it and see what it likes. See what caused it to grow. Also removing vegetation's kind of bad. It need the sun blocked that's why I find cubes in tall grass alot of the times it creates a microclimate.

The whole area is quite well covered as there's a decent canopy above, not too much light gets down there.
It's a pretty magical spot I just hope I haven't destroyed some of that magic! the subs definitely love the mulch so can't hurt chucking more of that on there.
