Hey man, thanks for your reply. I was thinking about doing an outside patch next year with the prints I’ve collected, I’ve found a very nice field short grass with bits of dead Grass everywhere so I’m hoping to find some around there. Does anyone know if the uk shroom map is accurate. I’ve only managed to obtain liberty caps once from a friend so I’m just interested in obtaining them again. I’m really into the hunt right now and if I get any success I’ll definitely drop a pic thanks for the advice mate 👌🏻

Hi guys!
Went out for my third time ever on dartmoor this evening and found a few mushrooms. There were loads of these about but I wasn’t sure what they were so didn’t pick many! Any help with the ID would be appreciated!
(Photo 1 and 3 are the same mushrooms, and 2 and 4 are the same)

I should probably mention, the ones I’m unsure about have a really thick gelatinous coating all over. Through the coat it looks as though they have a nipple on the top but the coating makes them look round, it’s hard to tell.

Found 101 on Dartmoor today. That’s 201 within the past week - the season is in full swing if you look in the right places! Glad to see so much rain forecast over the next week or so!

Any tips on what sort of places are the right places on the moors? I’ve been finding a few but not in any sort of numbers!

Hey everyone. Just found this absolutely stellar website
https://www.magicmushroommap.org/map
It's a heatmap that shows you where liberty caps are likely to grow based on soil type and current weather conditions
I only just found it but by jove I hope it works!

Nah man no good any of them. They look like Protostropharia semiglobata to me.👍🏻 P.s. had another look, the 3rd one in pic 2 and 4 is a lib. 3rd time looking now the one I said was a lib I don’t think it is actually. Turf them

This was my weekends haul, found an absolute gem of a location. The place was littered with them to the point where I just couldn't pick anymore. Ill be be sure to be back when I feel the conditions will be optimal.
Also going for my first 3.5g trip this weekend. Im planning on laying down on the rug with some visuals and music on the tele and a blanket and hope to enter complete bliss!

Thanks! I’m only just starting out looking for mushrooms and really struggling to tell the difference between some of the P. semiglobata and semilanceata. Is there anything particular I should be looking out for apart from the nipple? I found these few this morning after heavy rains yesterday and last night but again I’m really struggling to definitively identify them!

On a side note - is there an ID thread on this forum where I can post identification requests?

Only one lib in your pic buddy, the 2nd one.
If you are looking for an id request, you need to create your own thread for it, make sure you put in as much detail as possible, eg location, habitat, Gill colour, scent, any bruising etc and plenty of pics of each specimen, including Gill shots, cap shots, stipe shots and preferably some pics of them in location before picking.
Good luck buddy

Actually on 2nd viewing I don't think number 2 is a lib either, cap looks off and so does the stem.

Picked these last week. Had them drying in my room on a piece of kitchen roll for the past 5 days, a few have this colouring at the bottom. I'm fairly sure its just where I've pulled them out quite deep, but could anyone else just confirm that it isn't mould.
Thanks

Thanks for your help. I think I’m getting the ID better every time I go out. Just went back to the moors and got a nice haul. I’ve done my best to ID them but I think all these are libs if anyone can confirm?
It’s raining again now so hopefully there will be plenty around next time I go! Although I got a lot today it wasn’t easy and took a while! Just over 60
