Hi all!
This is my first post here in the forum. I lately became very interested in mycology - went for several hunts of classical edible species and so far are very much into all kinds of species.
A friend of mine, living in Czech Republic became also very interested in the topic, after i told him about my new hobby. So, today he sent me pictures he took when he went for a hunt of liberty caps on gras fields in Austria. He found various species and also found, that is is absolutely not that easy to clearly identify the one he was looking for.
He sent me pics with alphanumeric marking, so we are able to discuss it.
Habitat: The pics were made on a cow field, grass in different height, only eaten by cows who are on the field most of the year. It is in a sunny region but also quite wet. Lately it was raining a lot with a sudden temperature drop below 6 degrees for a few days/nights. The area is about 350m in elevation at the edge to the alpine area.
Gills: Please see attached photos.
Stem: Different sizes, usually not longer than 4cm. Nr. 6 is the longest with around 7 - 8 cm.
Cap: Please see photos. Between 1-1,5cm (Nr. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7) and about 2-2,5cm (Nr. 6, 7)
Spore print color: I added a photo of the spores he sent, but the color can not be seen clearly in the lens under 120x. On a piece of paper it was clearly dark for Nr. 6.
Bruising: None for Nr. 6 and 7, after about 1,5h.
Other information: The smell of Nr. 6 is quite intensely mushroom like. A bit like something they call Steinpilz in Austria - boletus should be the botanical name.
I hope you can help my friend. Thank you!
PICS:

I'd Say Conocybe Sp, Mycena Sp, & Maybe A Panaeolus Sp. No Libs.

Thank you again for your help.
I have to admit, I find it incredibly hard to understand how one can see a difference in them.
I mean, i can stand in front of it with my mobile, with pics of the ones you named an can not clearly see what the key features are.
I mean, I honestly see myself as someone who is really able to look close on things, to analize, but this makes me crazy Today i even used something like an "ultimate liberty cap identification help"-pic i found. With comparison of look alikes. It saddens me.
Can you please help me with a hint. Looking at Nr. 3, or 6 for example, what is it that is "missing". If it is dry as when my friend took the pics, shouldn't it look look this - only a distinctive "nipple" is missing? What about the reports of liberty caps without obvious nipples?
Thank you so much for your help in advance!

Mushroom Identification Goes Much Farther Than Just Comparing 2 Specimens Side By Side.
There Are Many Different Identification Factors That Come Into Play When Identifying A Mushroom Down To Species Level.
Starting With General Location, Habitat, & Substrate
Cap Color, Shape, & Texture
Gill Color, Gill Spacement & Attachment
Stipe Color, Texture, Length & Width
Spore Color & Bruising If Any.

Overall, Mushroom Identification Comes Down To Experience
