Discolored fruits - safe to eat?
    #26962745 - 09/30/20 07:55 PM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Hi,

These mushrooms are from my 3rd-ish flush of my first grow, but they've taken on some weird colors. They are currently drying in my dehydrator, but I wanted to make sure they are okay to eat once they're dried. I will note that when I smelled all of these, they all had that "mushroom smell".

Here's a picture of the first set of fruits in question. Notice the especially dark area at the top of cap in the middle, and on the far left. Is this just genetics? The caps didn't feel "mushy" in the discolored spots, and even felt firmer in one spot.

Another angle:

Also, most of this cluster is quite thick, and has a lot of white mycelium at the root. I'm correct that this is actually mycelium - it's not Trich or anything, right?

Here's the cluster I'm most concerned about, though. They have very off-dark caps. Here's multiple pictures of them, both with and without flash:

Thoughts?
