Shaggy Mane (Coprinus comatus) find photo & questions

I found these nice Shaggy Mane mushrooms yesterday, took them home and cooked them immediately, but they just turned into a strongly (and rather pungent) flavoured slushy mess.
I was dissapoined as I've heard others report them as delicious, and even Paul Stamets wrote in Growing Gourmet & Medicinal Mushrooms that they're one of his favourites (there is also a section on cultivating them in that book, apparenlty they're quite easy).
I suppose the ones I got were just too old or I cooked them wrong (fried lightly in a small amount of butter).
So my questions:
1. How do I cook them?
2. How do I get a good spore print from these mushrooms? They're obviously a difficult shape, and also very moist and quick to turn into goop. Any ideas?

I gave it to my wife and she just fried it as usual and it was super nice. But I did not give her any that had already started to disintegrate.
To get spores, get a q-tip and poke it inside the cap from the bottom into that black gore. But rather clone it by taking a small piece from the inside of the stipe.

Are you saying to just that black goop as a "spore print"?
I did also get a couple of bits from inside the cap on agar, but I sort of want the spore print just so I can preserve it longer (I guess).

Well, it starts to disintegrate when sporulating. Thus "spore printing" cannot be done as with other mushrooms.
These are my 3 dishes, took 2 transfers from original dishes. Still thinking what to do with them.

Apparently they're pretty easy to grow.
What was your process like to get contam-free mycelial growth on agar? I'm an agar-newb and have heard it's extremely difficult to clone wilds, even if you're very careful.
I don't have much hight-tech equipment. Only a pressure cooker, a SAB and a glove box.

That is exactly what I have too (you do not need glove box, only SAB).
The process was following: 1. I made some Pasty plates. 2. I tore a stipe from mushroom, cleaned it in running water and put on a shallow plate. 3. I prepared my SAB, placed Pasty plates and the shallow plate with the stipe inside. 4. I heated red the scalpel with small gas burner and then put it on small pedestal inside my SAB. 5. I then split the mushroom stipe in half along it length (it is hollow inside) with my fingers and cut out three small pieces, one by one: cut, then quickly open the lead of the Pasty plate as less as possible and slide a scalpel with a piece on it inside, close the lead.
After about a week I could see some mycelium growing together with slimy substance under it (I'm still not sure was it a bacterial grows or those pieces just decomposed). I waited until mycelium overgrown the slime substance and was on clear agar, then I transferred again. And then I transferred again to have more plates.
So nothing is difficult here.

Cool!
I recently found some much better ones in the wild (young, egg-shaped ones) and cooked them up and had them on toast. Really delicious! I can see why Stamets said why they're one of his favourite gourmet mushrooms now.

My wife did not risk to taste them, though she fried me some just on butter. That was when I understood I wanted them to grow.
