Hello, this is my first post on the forums and today a friend and I went on our very first mushroom hunt. The area we were hunting is Nort-West Alabama, about 5 miles from the Tennessee state line. Thes hunting was in a semi-wooded cow pasture. We found some intersting finds but im not sure exactly what they are. I am optimistic that some of you may be able to help identify them for me. I have just recently purchased a field guide and i belive that this species is either Panaeolus Semiovatus or Panaeolus Papilionaceus. I am in the process of making spore prints and am waiting for those. Does anyone know about how long it takes to get a good print? Thank you for you help and support. : )

you can get a REAL nice print by letting it sit for 48hrs, 24 hrs will also give you a nice one, but you dont have to wait that long, just give it a couple hrs and check it

One has psilocybin/cin and one doesn't. They're different species. Pan sphinctrinus has a broader range.

I think those are from the Panaeolus campanulatus/sphinctrinus/papilionaceus group. -I agree with that. You are polite and intelligent! Please come back and post with us anytime! -'Agree with that too.

Active or not, an abundant and nice find.
