Well guys, this is two out of two monotubs that failed due to contamination towards the end.
I guess the biggest takeaway for me, i wont be attempting woodlovers indoors again.
And second takeaway as a positive note, any other bensis strain would have had time for multiple flushes by now. Learned alot, got outdoor beds going for next year. Ill freeze my vials and just throw them on the back burner until the time is right.

But i learned A TON on this journey and i still think my outdoor bed has a shot at fruiting in october. Fingers crossed. Thanks for EVERYONES help.
And 99, those look amazing

Ordered a vial of golden teachers.. this wavy cap experiment was awesome. I have fallen in love with the sweet white mat of mycelium. Anyways, this thread was about those monotubs. They failed. Thanks for your help on this thread and teaching me proper techniques.

Two things i noticed when breaking up the monotub outside in a hole with alder chips.
The brick was pretty dry, but i think the surface face of mycelium was too wet, which caused the fungus to contaminate. It was solid, but the grain spawn from northspore was COMPLETELTY white. Then where i put the boomr manuer bags, it was barely touched, solid and grown through, but you guys were right, manure is NOT for wood lovers. And the layer of alder chips was also completely solid, which was on top. Very odd to see that, but noted. Hope that helps someone when it comes to wavy cap substrate.

If it helps, here is my own indoor project that's just started fruiting. maybe some of what I learned could help you if you decide to try again.
I used different cuts of oak as the main wood source. Chips, bark, leaves, shavings.. it's been a long experiment but its finally paying off. My tub was also pretty basic.

I really thought I would have been able to lower my temperature enough to finish them in early fall.
I'll start new cyan spawn in february  just around the corner. Really excited to try cubes next.
I DO think my outdoor patches will do something, there is so much mycelium there I should get enough for myself from it. But they will do what they want, Ive learned I cant control these fruits, such as my other hobbies.

Yeah, if it was bruising then maybe I overreacted.., but I loaded 3/4 of it in an existing bed.. and started a new halfass bed in another spot.

That really sucks if they would have worked out for sure. But regardless, theyre outdoors where they belong. Looking forward to a fresh start of trying bansis for the first time.

The bricks were fucking huge tho. Hope they take outside.

Fuck.. now you have me thinking "what if" on that tub.

Next time I'll ride it out, but 2 days ago i fucked with the polyfill, pulling chunks back through the holes (too much inside).. and removing clumps of alder that was piled higher and not taking as quick.
I figured my hands and breath being in there and just having the cover off for an extended few minutes fucked me over.
I hadn't heard about bruising until digging through posts today. Sigh. Next time I see blue/grey/ashy colors I will think twice. But I dont mind mixing everythinf outside, they are native. And may do well.

Does anyone know if mycelium should be exposed outside? I scraped the top off to similate the "quit feeding and start flowering" stage in a couple places.
Been a week and doesnt look contaminated, is it beneficial? I also didnt want mushrooms to hit the multch and not grow.

Mycelium looks healthy and beautiful tho. A 12"×3.5' spread around my plant. God i hope it fruits.

That plant had an amazing rhizoshpere.. TON of mychorrhizae before adding monotub bricks
