Sawdust for spawn - where to buy it?

Hello,
I'm wondering where to sorce sawdust for spawn? I want to use it to attempt to grow some gourmet (non-psychadelic) mushrooms.
I have acess to sawdust bags that we use as covering for the floor in horse stables, but I'm unsure of what type of wood that is, or whether it's suitable, size-wise.
I've also found bags of sawdust online sold at pet shops for similar purposes but the only reference I can find is it says, "mainly spruce". Is that suitable?
Regards.

Yeah I got pellets at the grocery store next to the charcoal. They expand like crazy so it’s more than you think.

Hej,
I have sourced a couple of different types of pellets, but upon investigation (which required contacting the manufacturer), they are all either made of pine or contain large amounts of pine.
Is this a problem?
I read in Stamet's Growing Gourmet & Edible mushrooms that pine is unsuitable.
Everything around where I live is pine.
edit: could it work to just make a saw-dust-free substrate? Say sterilized straw, coffee-grounds, brown rice flour and a little gypsum or something? Could I substitute that for saw dust, or would it not work? (I'm mainly thinking about oysters, including king oysters, and cauliflowers, psilocybins (cubes) and one day also lions mane).

I started going to a local saw mill and asked to shovel it off the floor...that quickly stopped when I found a local furniture maker that bags all his up and leaves it out back for people to take...makes great garden mulch too!
Point being, even if you buy some pellets to get started,it's Definitely worth a couple phone calls/visits to some local businesses,if it's possible in your area!
Ps.just be sure to ask what kind of wood they're using!!

Try craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, if you are on there). You'd be surprised. Stay away from spruce btw. Also, if you're looking to grow oysters, straw is your friend. If you can find fir pellets, both shitake and nameko will grow on them. But yeah, there's just no need for sawdust to grow oysters; and definitely stay away from animal bedding (spruce, cedar, etc.)
